Leicester City have completed a deal to take the Arsenal defender Kerrea Gilbert on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old full-back has made nine appearances for the Gunners first team and has had spells on loan at Cardiff City and Southend United. Foxes boss Nigel Pearson has worked with Gilbert in his England youth days. Pearson told the club's website: "He is a fighter and a winner. He is strong in the tackle and athletic and we will only benefit from his arrival." |

Panathinaikos hope to sign Brazilian holding midfielder Gilberto Silva from Arsenal on Friday. The Greek giants' president Nikos Pateras held negotiations with the 31-year-old's representatives in Athens on Thursday.
A Panathinaikos spokesman said if Arsenal accepted their 1.5-million-euro offer then a deal may be concluded on Friday. Pateras told reporters after the meeting: "All is well, further talks are expected to take place on Friday." Gilberto Silva joined Arsenal from Atletico Mineiro after helping the Seleção to 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/JapanTM glory. He was also part of the Brazil squads that triumphed at the FIFA Confederations Cup Germany 2005 and Copa America 2007. The former America Mineiro player has one Premier League and two FA Cup winners' medals at Arsenal. He has, however, recently become frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities. |

Gilberto will not be a great loss, he is a shadow of the player he used to be and the fact that he continues to start to Brazil shows how weak their current selection of defensive midfielders is. |

I've got a feeling it will take Nasri a good 6 months to settle. |

Well Arsenal officially completed the signing of samir Nasri this morning good signing if you ask me but i agree it might take him a while to settle in but nowadays it seems foreigners are settling in much easier.

Yeah, quality signing for us, though he's still very young and has a lot to learn, he can provide the flair we would be missing from hleb in attacking from midfield. He's such a powerful dribbler, IMO his decision making and final touch need a lot of improvement.
It'll be interesting to see if Wenger will play him in the 1st team regularly next season. Just read back a few pages and want to give my 2 cents on a couple of subjects. Firstly Adebayor, let him leave, I've been so [beep!] off over the last couple of weeks with the constant Media build up of the what seems inevitable departure of the Togo giant, but if you look back 1 month ago he stated his clear intention to stay, even after the season was over. Now he is saying that he is worth more money, four times as much in fact and will only stay on his own terms. Now I'm struggling to see his sudden improvements in terms of his own valuation from the end of the season to two weeks ago, in which period he was clearly going to stay but now wants more money and is adamant to leave, in my opinion the media hype and interest from other teams is the only reason Adebayor now rates himself so highly, if there wasn't as much media coverage then he'd still be with us next season. As far as a replacement goes, Martins isn't ideal, he rarely shone in black and white and I don't think he will in red and white, so hopefully we'll forget that. Huntelaar would be immense at the Emirates and I personally think we should now make him our no.1 Target, although the inflation from euro 2008 looks to be pricing us out of any deal there, same applies to Arshavin. Moving onto Hleb, I think he is a decent player, but watching Arsenal last season he frustrated me the most on three or four occasions. There is no denying his dribbling capabilities but there were times when I was literally pulling my hair out at his hesitance in releasing the ball, I think he could of saved us around 5 points last season, the most frustrating for me at the middlesborough game (1-1) where for the last 10 minutes he saw the most of the ball and didn't do [beep!] with it, holding onto it, looking for a pass, holding on longer, looking again until finally he gets tackled. And this happened too often in my opinion, he clearly wants to leave, let him go, he isn't irreplaceable and Arsene being Arsene will think on his feet and find a suitable replacement (if he hasn't already in Nasri), and we'll have a spanking season! |

No, Ben is very realistic. You just don't like him because you were whingeing that Liverpool didn't put in 210% on a pre-season friendly and he told you there was no reason too.

Is he hell. He didbnt like my opinion, he didnt need to be a we bairn about it. i just said they put in no effort at all in the game nevermind your 210%. And for those players i thought who would of took there chance in a friendly i thought they did poor. Whats the big deal about me saying that? |

Hleb is a good player, but he has problems in the English game and isn't an out & out Winger by any stretch.
Nasri is nowhere near the class of Hleb in his early career, but at least he brings something different and is more adaptable to a wide position due to his direct play and eye for goal. I'm not overly fussed on Nasri but I know Wenger will get the best out of him if he settles into his new life and his new responsibilities. |

Off-topic...
The price of the season ticket has been increased from £885 to £925 for the next season it seems. It is £275 more expensive than the next highest club, Liverpool. But this includes all the cup and CL games which is not the same for other clubs which charge extra for those matches... |
