0-1 HT.

And frustratingly, had the 'keeper left the cross for the goal, Govou never would have got it as it'd of ran through to a defender. But i suppose he wasn't to know that.

It took a lot out of Rangers conceding and they lost the confidence they started with when attacking. Albeit for the last 10 or so minutes of the first-half were on top, but they struggled to make anything happen in the last third.

I'm watching this too. Don't have access to either the ManU or Barca games and i have to work at home tonight, so i have the telly on next to me and this is the "free" game they're showing tonight.

I don't mind though cause it's a decent game so far and it's really the only game with any importance tonight. Two teams fighting it out for a spot in the second round.

Rangers deserved to lose on the night - whether they deserved to go out i'm not sure.

But you knew it wasn't to be when Darcheville shot against the crossbar from six yards out.. that was the first time they really stretched Lyon too.

It's harsh on them after great performances early on, but they only have themselves to blame really. They let progression slip out of their hands..

They did deserve to go out. Barca won top spot and Lyon outplayed them at home. What more do you want?

they deserved to lose. They didnt create anything until Darcheville's chance and Lyon had plenty of chances to score. Lyon were simply just a better team, much more quality and it just shone through in the end

Ben didn't suggest they didn't deserve to lose the game. He suggested they possibly didn't deserve to go out.

Hence my post above.

Lyon deserved the win & were by far the better team. Rangers had a go at them in the second half but didnt create much besides that terrible miss from Darcheville. I knew Benzema was going to be a great player when I first seen him about 3 years ago when he was 17 & he will be a great player & probally already is anyway.

I didn't think Lyon could win after the first leg in Lyon.

Lyon looked sluggish in the beginning but what a finish. As for Rangers I don't want to sound superstitious, but I'm guessing it was that substitution that triggered it.

Rangers were lucky in the first tie. Never seen the game but a Gers mate of mine said they only had 3 chances and they were lucky enough to score from them. I think Lyon may have rattled the woodwork a few times too.

Anyway, good to see them go out. They can just sit back and watch their biggest rivals lift the 'big cup' for the second time.

Darcheville turned the game with his shocking miss too. They were pressing Lyon and came close to an equaliser a few times. He missed an open net from yards out and Lyon scored about a minute later
