I will! I'll be his godfather when he gets married Very Happy

Anyway, Lakers won the yesterday's game. Gasol and Odom were more agressive in attack, although Pierce was for me the man of the match. Good job from the subs Tony Allen (Celtics) and Jordan Farmar (Lakers).
Next match on tuesday, in Boston.

Yeah good game that one. Celtics came back twice and equalled the Lakers and even took the lead once, but Lakers were better this time and they forced the Series back to Boston.

But the odds are against Lakers IMO... No team has came back from being 3-1 down. Especailly the Lakers have never came back from being 2-0 down in the Finals and also no team has ever won game 6 and 7 on road. So the odds are stacked against them and I think the Celtics will be just too good to beat there and wrap up the title they deserve... Very Happy

The Lakers almost blow it again. They jump out to a huge lead in the first quarter only to let it start to slip away by halftime.

We go to Boston for game 6 where I feel Boston will close it out.

Yes, I also think Boston will win the tittle in the next game, but at least they didn't win it in Los Angeles.
However, if LA happens to win game 6, all the pressure will be for the Celtics players.

KG deserves a ring.

good call Smurphy looks like you picked a winner ,it's not over yet but the writing seems on the wall.

On another topic .
The situation with these claims of refs fixing games hits me very hard indeed.
I was a big fan of the knicks of the early 90's ,they just fit my character down to a tee and a fell in love with them in a big way. Only Michael Jordan stepped in their way of at least a couple of titles.,but there were games where i thought the games were fixed. Those games broke my heart and a never watched the Knicks again after they broke that team apart.I seems like my initial thoughts are now a very good possibility.,some of the decisions and calls made by the officials were totally bizarre and lefty a very bad taste in my mouth let alone suspicion.

I do remember a certain Mr Mecado claiming that the Celtics would win 30 games tops this season and would not amount too much at all!

Oh for shame Mrtzy, oh for shame.

And Celtics won the tittle. To be fair, it was well deserved.

Another terrible game by the Lakers, absolutely all their players were crappy. Somehow the commentators focused his anger on Gasol, something which is unfair since everyone else was sh*t. Bryant is the best when he's on fire, but he's desperating when he keeps shooting and shooting and missing over and over. Seems like he wants to play alone, and needs nobody. I think the Celtics fans yelled "You're not Jordan" or something like that. What a bunch of jerks yeah, but I wish Lakers had more active fans in the Staples.

Anyway, Boston humiliated LA and won the NBA tittle, first for Garnett, Pierce and company.
Congrats Immortal, mate Wink

Well done Garnett, Pierce, Allen and the rest of the role players. Allen was absolutely on fire in the 4th quarter there, he was draining everything. Lakers are a team for the future, but they definitely didn't deserve to win this go around. Their meltdown in game 4, their near meltdown in game 5, their no show in game 6; Celtics fully deserved it.

I'm happy for Garnett finally getting the ring he oh so deserves.

But look out for the Lakers in the coming years, I see another ring in Kobe's near future.

Thanks Raul mate... It was a fantastic victory and they won it in the best way possible which is completely destroying the opponents. LAL were outplayed in every aspect of the game and every Celtics player deserved that ring... All the players had a huge part in that victory.

I have to say this. Rando was fantastic in this game. He steals the ball like crazy and he was attempting to shoot for a change and it went in for him. Watch out for him guys as he's young and he'll only get better and better...

Allen, what can I say!!! He's the best shooter I'll ever see in my life... An NBA finals record tie of 7 3-pointers and he was the point leader for the game along with KG. He was the most consistent player for the Celtics in the Finals series after his poor form coming into the finals and he deserves all the credit.

Pierce did his usual and was outstanding in his defense against Kobe and made plays for others. He's a great player and deserves his MVP award...

Finally my fav player in that team, KG. Man he had an outstanding game and was rightfully adjudged player of the game. That shot he made with one hand after he was fouled and was unbalanced was outstanding and outrageous. I still dunno how he made that shot... Many of his shots were tough ones but he made it look so easy. What a player. He soooooooooo deserves that ring. Here's me hoping that he'll get more rings in the future...

Lakers were woeful in defense and their shots were not at all good. Kobe couldn't even control the ball let alone the game. But he's a great player and he'll come back strongly next season. Watchout for the Lakers though. They are a good team and young too. They have the right combination and with Phil as coach, they can go a long way, but I hope they don't ever win a ring in the near future...

He also broke the record for most 3-pointers in the finals (the whole series).

So thats more reason to praise and admire him then... Fantastic player...

So many records have been broken by the Celtics this year... Very Happy

Was watching the highlights of game six earlier on, and man what a complete and utter blowout. Boston admittedly were superb, Allen and Pierce in particular whilst L.A had a poor defense and never could really step it up on the offensive end in order to match the rampaging Celtics.

Fair play to Boston, they fully deserve their crown.

Ok, so I've eaten my shoe for my Boston-bashing Wink. I wouldn't have guessed that Allen's knee and Pierce's back would hold up for an entire season Laughing. Complete thrashing in game 6 and the Celtics emphatically cap off a huge season. Doc Rivers will finally establish himself as a good coach after never being able to get out of the 1st round of the playoffs and the Big Three have their rings. Lakers lacked an inside presence to muscle up the Celtics and Odom and Gasol were at times invisible. You can't have a triangle offense with only one person.

Verdict:

I'm looking forward to see the Lakers next year though. Andrew Bynum will be back and he's showed signs of being a superstar. Gasol will start off fresh with training camp and a taste of what it feels like to be a winner. He will also be playing his natural position as a power forward with the return of Bynum. Odom should come out of his shell and work more on his game as the #3 man. Kobe Bryant is the best player in the league. Guys like Sasha Vujacic, Jordan Farmar, Vladimir Radmanovic Luke Walton, and Ronnie Turiaf will have a new swagger and will form a lethal bench with championship experience. Although I think Farmar should be a starter ahead of Fisher who will be instant offense off the bench. Farmar is a talented young player who has great upside. Should be a solid court general who will give tons of energy. I'll tip them to come out of the Western Conference if they keep believing that they can do it.

Look at the possible Lakers line-up next year:

SF Lamar Odom
PF Pau Gasol
C Andrew Bynum
SG Kobe Bryant
PG Jordan Farmar

Bench:

G Derek Fisher
G Sasha Vujacic
F Vladimir Radmanovic
F Ronnie Turiaf
F Luke Walton
C Chris Mihm
*1st round draft pick*

That'll be a formidable line up.

As for the Celtics, they'll just need to keep doing what they're doing I guess. Feed off the big three and just batter their opponents into submission. The big question is if the hunger will be there, still. The veterans finally have their rings and they youngsters have been shoved from bottom feeders to world champions. Will they have it in them to repeat? On paper they do, but they'll be a mystery coming into next year. Although they'd be a safe bet as the east is once again a much weaker conference.

I've read somewhere that Lakers may get rid of Odom for a good shooter next season. At least Phil Jackson seems to want a good shooter as a #3.
I want to see Bynum cause I've just watched a few videos (like the Shaq one) of him.

If the Lakers play their cards right, they may be able to get Antwan Jamison from Washington as he is a free agent. I think they'll be able to make a deal for him. That would make them even better as they will have Gasol, Bynum, and Jamison who are all pretty good rebounders and I don't see any other front court in the NBA that can match up with those three.

Jermaine O'Neal may be headed to Cleveland in exchange for Wally Szczerbiak, Anderson Verajao and the 19th pick. I say go for it. Danny Granger or Troy Murphy can play the 4 and they are younger and less injury prone, O'Neal carries a huge salary and the Pacers need the cap space, the Pacers can select a great point guard with either the 11th or the 19th pick and finally unload deadweight Jamaal Tinsley. Another good trade would be with Toronto with O'Neal going there for TJ Ford and Rasho Nesterovic. Not as attractive as the Cleveland deal because of the possibility of two first round draft picks, but they'd be killing two birds with one stone having a good big man and a good point guard. I'd prefer the Pacers take a gamble and go for the Cleveland trade and take a rookie point guard or test the free agent market.

Possible Starting line ups if the Cavs-Pacers trade goes through:

Cleveland:

SF Lebron James
PF Jermaine O'Neal
C Zydrunas Ilgauskas
SG ???
PG Daniel Gibson

6th man: Ben Wallace

Indiana:

SF Danny Granger
PF Anderson Verajao
C Troy Murphy
SG Wally Szczerbiak
PG Mike Dunleavy Jr.

The Pacers would have the biggest starting 5 probably with nobody under 6'6 Laughing But if the Pacers go on and take a PG at the draft or the free agency, Verajao may go to the bench with Dunleavy at the 2, Szczerbiak at 3, and Granger at 4.

If the trade with Toronto goes through:

SF Danny Granger
PF Troy Murphy
C Rasho Nesterovic
SG Mike Dunleavy Jr.
PG TJ Ford

Again, a pretty big line up there with perimeter threats everywhere other than Rasho. Although Rasho can shoot up until the top of the circle.

ESPN reports that the Indiana Pacers have traded F Jermaine O'Neal to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for G TJ Ford, C Rasho Nesterovic and the 20th overall pick. The Pacers need to trade another player, though to match salaries.
