Does any non-league teams have sort of open trial events during the summer? It have been my dream for long to get taste of english football as on field and I would love to just get a trial or two during summer with any level club as long as it's a team that plays competitive football in England. Hi Andy
Welcome....Good to see your post.

Am sure there will be lots of teams keen to see new players.
If things work out are you intending to stay and play? Lots of work in and around Leeds.

This link should give you most of the info you need, otherwise let me know.

Well surdently if things workout very well and I am very welcome in some club and if I manager to find job that they will have me in, I would very much seek into possibility to stay in England for a while.
I should seek more info about possible trials before summer.

What level are you playing at in Finland? Does your club have a web-site? Do you get paid expenses for playing?

I don't know how familiar you are with English non-league football, but in most teams there is quite a bit of coming and going of players as well as managers during the season..... a bit like Premier and the football league, your team, Liverpool, is rather more settled than some.

So it would be important to go to an area where there are good job opportunities, not too expensive to live, as well as a good selection of different teams. The north of England has all of those. And of course a good place for your family and partner. Is she keen on sport? I mention this because of the SocaTots http://www.socatots.com/leeds/ which are linked to Garforth and the fact you have a young family.

As at any level, at any time of year, teams will be seeking certain important players, such as strikers, creative mid-fielders etc.
What is your position?

Sorry so many questions, but non league here is becoming increasingly popular. An exciting time with lots of opportunities.

Go get 'em Andy.
Very Happy Very Happy

I have played in 3rd division few years, mostly as sub, then last season (2006) was my first 3rd division season that I played regulary. Now last season was a disapointment in lots of ways and my personal life interfered my football "career" a bit. I started with 3rd division club, played only 10 minutes for them and rest of my games was with their reserves in 4th division. After mid-season I moved and returned to my original club and to their reserve team and like to think I was somehow useful in our campaign that gave us promotion to 4th division next season.

I can play either wing and forward, but one thing is I dont know how my style of play even suits those positions in england and if I am even anywhere near good enough for even lower league team. That's why it would be fun to come over and try out some practise match or something.

I dont know if my girlfriend woud want to move with me though since she has school here and she barely speaks any english and all in all it would be easier to them just stay in Finland, should the amazing thing happend and me to get both club and a decent job in England.

Thanks for your reply , I will look into your link as well.
