“Olympique Lyonnais deny having received any demand from English club Tottenham for a transfer for Gregory Coupet,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“Besides, the club remind that in a general way, no discussions regarding eventual transfers will be hold before the Coupe de France final on Saturday at Stade de France on which the club is focused.”

Coupet has always claimed he wants to play in an English-speaking country before ending his glorious career, and the 35-year-old, who has just won a seventh consecutive Ligue 1 title, is tipped to be replaced at OL by the promising Hugo Lloris from Nice.

For his part, Coupet, under contract until 2010, told reporters after training that: “It is the president who will express himself about this file after the final.”

''The information from L'equipe about a reciprocal interest between coupet and totenham seem to have been confirmed in the afternoon at the OL training ground. The international goalie, who has still not officially asked to leave the club he arrived in 97, made two regulars women supporter cry a his arrival a tola-vologe. The reason of their emotion : he personally told them his imminent departure to London

Contacted by l'equipe on wednesday the OL direction denied having established a contact with Spurs.
A very discreet player, Coupet just confirmed the hypothsesis that he would be leaving
the club should not form an obstacle to his departure etc...

Anyone know whats going to happen wioth Adel Taarabt, as from what weve seen of him we can see hes going a certain amount of talent he just needs to play more regularly somewhere were the manager and coaching staff can actually communicate well with him. I would like him to go on loan to a French side but learn English while hes there because at the moment i dont know if our Coaching staff can get the message across to him as theyd like.

Have heard they arent giving up on him just yet, might loan him out to one of the lower prem teams. I say send him to Sunderland and let Keane go on him, that will sort him out lol

I'd rather see him go to a team who would keep the ball on the ground for longer than 30 seconds.
No disrespect to Sunderland but route one to Jones's head won't help Taarabt develop in the short term.

Im not sure about that Sparky i think it will help him get used to the physical side and also if Richardson had stayed fit hed of played every game and Keane would of let him dribble ball around but i understand what your saying. If we were willing to let him go to the Championship Cardiff would be a good option as they pass the ball around very well and maybe we could used Taarabt loan for a season as a sweetener for a deal to bring Ramsey to Spurs.

Good, now all we have to do is convince him we are the right option for him in England.

They just don't wanna say anything so close to the French Cup final but you get a solid goalkeeper not spectacular at all but efficient. He trains well and looks motivated to play abroad.
