Italy striker Antonio Cassano has moved from Real Madrid to Sampdoria on a permanent basis after a successful loan deal with the Serie A club, the Primera Liga side said on Friday.

Real did not disclose any further details, but Spanish media said the temperamental 25-year-old had been given a free transfer.

Cassano joined Real on a 4-1/2-year deal from AS Roma for 5.5 million euros in January 2006, but never settled at the Bernabeu and had several run-ins with then coach Fabio Capello during the following season.

He made it clear he did not want to remain at Real and went on loan to Sampdoria in August last year.

He had a superb campaign with the Serie A club but also hit the headlines for being given a five-match ban for verbally abusing a referee and throwing his shirt at him.

Eyebrows were raised last week when Roberto Donadoni named him in the Italy squad for Euro 2008, having not been called up since 2006.

Is good he has signed for sampdoria as its important for him to keep playing first team football. Has paid off and now in italy squad for the euros campaign

Never say never, but either way we can wait for him to improve even more and be worthy of wearing the Bianconera shirt Smile

Italy reserve keeper Marco Amelia broke off from his Euro 2008 preparations to sign for Serie A side Palermo on Thursday.

Amelia has left relegated Livorno and agreed a four-year contract, the Sicilians said on their website.

The world champions have a number of players in their Euro squad who are in the process of moving clubs.

Genoa striker Marco Borriello is returning to co-owners AC Milan, with the deal due to be made official after the end of the tournament in Austria and Switzerland.

Media reports have said Palermo defender Andrea Barzagli has agreed a transfer to Germany's VfL Wolfsburg.

Full back Gianluca Zambrotta clinched a move from Barcelona to Milan days before the Italy squad flew out to their base south of Vienna.

Coach Roberto Donadoni said recently he wanted transfer talk to be kept to a minimum as his side prepare for their first Group C match against Netherlands in Berne on Monday

Is he a good goal keeper?

In Serie A he's probably the best keeper after Buffon, Julio Cesar and Frey

Czech under-19 striker Libor Kozak has been signed by Italian Serie A club Lazio, his second division club Slezsky FC Opava announced on Saturday.

Kozak signed a five-year contract with the Rome-based club, the CTK agency said, adding that according to unofficial sources they paid 1.2 million euros (1.8 million dollars).

Versatile Brazilian Mancini is expected to swap Roma for Italian champions Inter Milan in a deal reported to be worth around 13 million euros. "The two parties are satisfied," Inter official Gabriele Oriali told Sky television.

Italian media claimed that the 27-year-old would be paid around 3.5 million euros a season. He would link up with his compatriots Julio Cesar, Maicon, Maxwell and Adriano at the Nerazzurri.

Mancini moved to Roma from Atletico Mineiro in January 2003, and has since won the Coppa Italia twice and played in two UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, where Roma were beaten by Manchester United. In total, he has made 154 appearances in Serie A, scoring 40 goals

Udinese's Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan has signed a four-year deal with French first division club Rennes, the buying club's website said on Friday.

The details of the deal have yet to announced, but press reports in Italy indicate it could be in the region of 8 million euro (13 million dollars).

Gyan, 22, went down in the history books in 2006 when he became the first Ghanaian to score a goal at the FIFA World Cup™ finals in Germany.
