Ronnie: "We've Cut Our Own Throats"
Posted on: Tue 08 Jan 2008
Ronnie Moore was disappointed with his side's defeat at Leyton Orient
The Manager said: "We've cut our own throats for the second week in a row. The first goal we conceded could easily have been stopped. It was sloppy.
"We've had a lot of half chances and a lot of corners, but we weren't ruthless enough in their box.
"At half time we were still in the game, but the red card takes its toll. You can't go to Crewe and play with ten men and then come here and play with ten men.
"There have been a lot of games and it's asking a lot of the players. What I can ask for is discipline and for them to do the right things. I think players have let their team mates down. If we'd won the game we could have been sixth. For players not to be disciplined...he'll be fined for that, that's for sure.
"I think the score flattered them and was cruel in the end."
Meanwhile, the Manager revealed Andy Taylor was pulled out of the squad after an offer was made to Blackburn Rovers by another club. Moore said Tranmere had matched the bid and were waiting for the player to make a decision. |
Can't work out what Sheriff did to get the bookings, but it must have been stupid for him to be fined.
Soccernet reports: But Tranmere were reduced to 10 men five minutes into the second half when, in a game of few free-kicks, Sherriff earned a second yellow card for a foul on Andy Barcham.
