Oh My Lordie, Thank you.

This kid is great, I was eccstatic when I read the first quotes on it early one morning.
I've searched the web looking for examples of him, and remembered him playing
against Everton in the UEFA cup. The kid looks great, tall, strong, good on the ground and in the air.
He will be a great addition.

I hope he makes a start against borough. Agger won't be back, and I'd rather see him than Hobbs.

I've heard from all over the kid is similar to that of Vidic, if he comes even somewhere near to that
ability, I will have a new defender kit to hang on the wall.

Anyone heard of the kit number he'll wear??

I'm pretty sure Skrtel will wear number 39. Which is slightly strange seeing as nobody else wants 2, you thought he might pounce on it. Or many other numbers which are lower too.

But yes, i'm excited to see how this lad fare's in the Premier League.. he's most likely to be the longterm replacement for Carragher and partner of Agger (although i don't know where that leaves Hobbs).

Though i'd warn you to be a little patient with him. He won't be available against Middlesbrough and will take time to settle i'd wager.. as we've seen with Agger. But as with Agger, the good thing about signing a player in January is that come next season they're well settled and raring to go, hopefully rising to the fore.

To be honest id never heard of him and i saw the game against Havant & waterlooville where i believe he made his debut and he looked very shaky.
Although now ive seen him more, he looks like a good addition.
Can't really rate him yet at the minute needs more time but i am happy with what he's done so far.

He has been unbelievable in my opinion, given the circumstances:

- He came in January; notoriously a difficult time to settle within.

- His league in Russia had finished in November, and was only starting again in March, meaning he hadn't yet started any pre-season training.

- The standard of the Premier League and what he's used to is quite something, particularly with the league being in full-flow.

- He's just 23 years of age.

Given that his presence has forced Benitez into putting Carragher on the right i'd say his impact has been unbelievable - so much more than many of us anticipated anyway. He's terrific in the air, clean in the challenge, great at reading situations and getting over quickly, as well as quite fast also (despite a critique in Russia of him being that he's too slow). He's done so well in my opinion, rising to the fore against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Inter Milan - he was poor against Havant, and i don't think he had his best game against Blackburn yesterday, but he's otherwise settled very well.

Skrtel and Agger will give Carragher a run for his money next season, i know that for sure. That partnership excites me and i hope it works out well, as it promises to.
