Well like I said before things are moving ever so quickly with this bizarre merry-go-round.

But it does look like Tom Hicks has failed to raise the needed amount to buy out George Gillett's 50% of shares.

JP Morgan advised Tom Hicks at the weekend that it would put his other assets at 'serious risk' should he decide to take that route.

The next problem for Hicks was when he tried to buy 1-2% of Gillett’s shares 12 days ago, Gillett resisted straight away, as the contract is said to state, if either party wishes to sell the stake in LFC - it has to be the whole amount of shares - not split.

So because Hicks couldn’t get any of Gillett’s shares, Hicks advisors wrote to DIC on Tuesday of this week stating that - Hicks was 'unable to go ahead with his attempts at buying out Gillett at this time' & that DIC will receive no legal threats from his party should they still wish to buy out Gillett.

He also has said in that letter that he wishes to 'sit down' with DIC and talk about the ‘future’.

Now I know for sure that talks between Gillett's advisors & DIC seniors are underway at the same hotel in Mayfair London where discussions have been ongoing for the last 4 days & Dubai International Capital are said to be 48 hours away from taking control of half of Liverpool football club.

Further more, from what I hear is DIC will not be slow in trying to force Tom Hicks to relinquish at least some of his shares that enable them to take over all control.

DIC who are being represented by PCP Capital Partners at these talks with Gilletts reps in London, are said to have put a huge package together which will see Hicks keep the majority of his shares, a large amount of money & future this & that’s.

Now as much as Hicks says he won’t sell - the problem he is going to face is once DIC are in at Liverpool, they as a business have the means to make things more than difficult for Hicks and the last people he wants to start & carry on this fight with is - DIC.

If Hick's knows his future gains' are not under threat & he has assurances that his position is not at risk - a deal will be done.

What I hear from Hick's side - The reason he is desperate to stay at Anfield is because he wants to be the one who oversees the building of the new Anfield.

He has already started giving contracts to his people back in the States and does not want that put at risk.

The steel industry is a massive one for Hicks & will earn him & his associates millions of dollars.

DIC are said to be 'open' to Hicks carrying on that work - IF a deal can be reached - otherwise DIC will cause Hicks massive problems by derailing his plans for the new Anfield.

A source at Financial Dynamics who are representing Tom Hicks, insist Hicks will not just walk away & a set of conditions have already been passed on to Amanda Staveley who represents DIC.

Finally, the one certain loser in all this will be Rick Parry.

He is again at these talks in London, as someone who is 'looking out for the interests of Liverpool football club' but DIC view Parry as the main reason they didn't achieve the purchase a little over a year ago & he is on borrowed time.

Even Hicks is privately said to dislike Parry, so all is not looking good for him.

More on this to follow, but at least it finally seems there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Not really ulster - at least things are coming to a head with it.

The only reason its taken so long is because of Tom Hicks.

Hes a fighter, but up against these chaps he is fighting a losing battle.

What do you think of DIC ulster?

No [beep!], Sherlock.

Your source tell you that, or did you work this startling new information out all by yourself?

Not to worry, within weeks I'm told...

Steely, you're talking sh*t.

To say the Yanks have done NOTHING is a joke.

Xabi Alonso perfectly pointed out what they had done wrong. They are full of sh*t. They lied, broke promises and went behind the managers back. Xabi Alonso is right. They have made Liverpool FC a joke.

Why they made the Klinsmann thing public i'll never know.

Nice to have you back Xabi Alonso. I haven't seen you in a while.

Cheers Sticky,

Yeah ive been on here now and again but just chosen not to comment. too much goin on at Liverpool these days to have an opinion over! I'd need all night!!!

Morning all,

Well I have received numerous emails this morning stating that a deal has been done.

An agreement was said to be reached with Gillett & DIC late last night.

DIC have bought 49% of Gilletts shares.

I will try and find out if its true shortly.

PCP senior partner Amanda Staveley and chief representative for DIC, has said in a statement:

“Subject to renegotiation of a partnership agreement and subject to the stringent minority shareholder protection rights we would be prepared to accept a 49% shareholding in Liverpool FC. This arrangement provides the best possible solution to the situation and would be in the best interests of the club and their loyal fans.”

Seems as if this is true.

Okay, well Hicks release this statement just now:

STATEMENT FROM TOM HICKS
Paul Eaton 10 March 2008
Tom Hicks, co-owner of Kop Football (Holdings) Limited and, through it, of Liverpool Football Club, today issued the following statement.
"Based on a meeting held earlier today in Dubai between my representatives and officials of Dubai International Capital LLC, as well as other recent contacts between us and them, I have decided to terminate any further discussions with DIC regarding their possible purchase of a minority stake in Kop and, in turn, in the Club.

"DIC made it clear that if they invested in the Club, they would want it to be managed by committee. Based on my thirteen years of successful experience as an owner of professional sports teams, and based in particular on the situation at Liverpool Football Club over the past year, it is clear to me that such a committee approach would not be in the best interest of Kop, of the Club or of the Club's loyal and passionate supporters.

"Accordingly, I have decided to exercise my right under the Kop Football (Holdings) Limited partnership agreement to veto any sale of any portion of Kop and the Club to DIC.

"I and my colleagues and representatives will continue to explore a number of other options with regard to the ownership of Kop and the Club aimed at achieving an appropriate ownership, financial and organizational structure for Kop and the Club over the long term."

So what does every one think about this, more lies???

Well -

Yet another unexpected day of twists & turns.

So Hicks has ended' his negotiations with DIC after 3 of his senior wigs (including his son) met with DIC officials Monday morning in Dubai.

Talks are said to have lasted all of 40 minutes!

The Hicks camp are put out that DIC want things that involve LFC matters "to be managed by committee".

When DIC came out with that demand, that was the end of negotiations.

Again - all is not lost for the Liverpool fans & this is far from over.

Amanda Staveley has leaked' to AP that DIC's next route, far from giving up, is to now drop the offer of power share & go after both Tom Hicks & more so George Gillett "aggressively".

It is believed a formal offer for Gillett's entire share of Liverpool will be made 'within hours', if it hasnt already been done & is now on record.

This will give Tom Hicks 90 days to find the money to buy out his partner & assume over all control of Liverpool.

Now as I said before, Hicks was advised by JP Morgan a week ago that in trying to raise the money needed to buy out his partner he would put all his other assets at "serious risk".

Something he will NOT do.

There are too many reasons to explain in full why he wont do it - but trust me he wont.

Just a few of those reasons are the loan & debt, the building of the new stadium, players, cost of running the club & unforeseen expenses, which would amount to money Hicks just does not have.

So the only remaining option for him is to find a backer with unlimited resources who can out bid DIC.

Again I need not explain to you all - that is something that would prove extraordinarily difficult - if not impossible.

So the 90 days it is.

When that time arrives and Hicks cannot match DIC's bid, DIC would assume control of all of Gillett's shares - making them equal partners with Tom Hicks.

The day DIC get hold of 50% of the club, that is the day Tom Hick's can start thinking about different buisness ventures.

Again, too much to go into now, but alot of Hick's worry is the new stadium & the building plans.

He has already given out the contracts to his buisness people in the States & should DIC have an equal say in how things are done at Liverpool - they can cause him major headaches & stop those plans in there tracks.

That is something he cannot afford to let happen.

Someone I work with asked me about an hour ago - is this really the end of the DIC interest & I told him no - not at all.

All this latest twist means is it is going to get very messy, but with DIC being the aggressors - there will be only one winner.

Well two.

DIC & the fans.

One more thing, that is EXCLUSIVE only to this forum at the moment:

Sources have suggested to me in the last 24 hours that Hicks 'recently' approached ex Liverpool suitor Robert Kraft to see if he would consider buying Gilletts shares out right.

However I was told that the idea was seen as fantasy by the Kraft Group & was rebuked.
