The problem with that is, they don't. We at least have the better players, even if you want to dispute the manager.

Tottenham on the other hand are miles ahead of Newcastle in footballing speak. The only way you really get the upper hand is by playing the old 'fans' card, which considering there's about 3 Premier teams in the whole of the north-east is ridiculous. Tottenham are one of how many teams in the same city (even if it is a big one).

What has the number of teams in a city got to do with being the better side Ben91? The Market is worldwide they can select their players from almost anywhere. All they have to do is agree to the move and pay the fees. As a fans point of view how many people live in London compared to Newcastle? The metropolitan area of London is estimated to have a population of between 12 and 14 million. In Population of Newcastle 259,536.

As for Spurs being miles ahead. I don't see it. They have had a couple of 5th position finishes lately but that is about it. They have absolutely zero chance of getting into the top6 this year. Even Portsmouth are 10 points ahead of Spurs and Spurs fixtures look quite difficult for them to pick up that many points.

Anyway Ben you are going off topic. This thread is about who will finish 4th please keep it that way.

i know its off topic but London has nowhere near that amount of people.

its estimated to be around 7m. being as it covers such a vast area the people of say south west london would take around 90 minutes by train just to get to White Hart Lane and as such wouldnt support Spurs. you speak like you have never been to london, in fact i would be extremely suprised if you had been to london for more than a tourist visit.

apologies, now back on topic

Cool

well i am amazed that so many of you seem to automatically go with Liverpool for 4th spot , despite their League form being pretty average so far ... the next three matches they have are West Ham ..away , Sunderland..home , Chelsea ...away . Not exactly easy matches ...and then take the last 5 matches by Liverpool..in the league

Derby 1 Liverpool 2 ..90th min winner by Gerrard

Man City 0 Liverpool 0

Liverpool 1 Wigan 1

Middlesbrough 1 Liverpool 1

Liverpool 2 Aston Villa 2 ...88th min goal by Crouch to save a point

so thats 7 points out of 15 ....on that form they have not got a hope of 4th spot .

I will have to say Everton. With all the unrest behind the scenes, and the poor form on the pitch. Can't see any1 but Everton coming forth. Liverpool have too many average players

Sorry Conner, but that's a bit of a silly way of determining that we won't make the top four - to take what is a slump in form and suggest we'll carry on like that for the rest of the season. Of course if we draw all our matches from now 'till May we'll not make 4th, but then if you take anyone's worst period of matches and replicate them over the course of the season then they'd finish very lowly too.

Our "average League form" had seen us still up with United (6 points off with a game in hand) and Chelsea (2 points off with a game in hand) in mid-December, so i doubt anyone can claim that the fourth place is beyond us. Yes if we keep this up we won't make it, but as i said, it'd be silly to assume we would.

So what? I'm sick of hearing about this mythical Geordie fanbase, and how loyal and great your fans are.

I previously said that Man City would get the 4th spot in another thread. However, I'm changing my views on it.

Man City can't score, their strikers aren't good, and now all the sudden their defense is falling apart. In the beginning of the season their defense would keep them in the game and they'd sneak in a goal for the win, or get the draw, but it's all going downhill for them now.

I feel that Everton can hang on and get the 4th spot. Liverpool will finish in 5th. Their loss to West Ham today hurt them bad.
