Cameroon Vs Egypt |
|
The first of todays teo games, kicking off at 17:00 GMT. The keenly anticipated fixture between the favourites from Group C, and i hope for a good game. The Egyptians have a good record in recent years in this tournament and i am sure Cameroon will be keen to prove that they are well and truly over their failure to qualify for Germany in 06.
And i think they will start that today. I predict: Cameroon 3-1 Egypt |

Come on Etoo.
Etoo to score 2 goals. I predict a draw, 2-2. I hope I will stay up until 2am to watch this game. Tunisia - Senegal also is a must see game. |

60 minutes in and a great game sees Egypt lead Cameroon by 3 goals to 1. Two great goals from Zidan and a first half performance his French namesake would have been proud of and a penalty from Hosni saw a more than comfortable lead heading into the break. Egypt bossed the first half defending superbly and forcing Cameroonian mistakes all over the pitch making sure they did not achieve a final ball. Superb goal from Zidan also, the best of the tournament so far.
Cameroon however have really dominated the openings of the second half and a fine ball from Geremi saw Eto'o nod in an easy finish. Still Egypt in the commanding position however. |

An exciting close to the game saw two more goals from Hosni and an Eto'o penalty and the final score reading Egypt 4-2 Cameroon. A thoroughly cool, impressive performance from the defending champions saw them dominate defensively as a well organised unit and displaying great ability and always looking dangerous going forward. Stunning goals from Zidan and Hosni's second, and a well deserved win for Egypt.
Cameroon were reminiscent of Nigeria yesterday IMO. |
