Not too bad, I hate the fact Kilbane is guaranteed a place in the team though, hes nothing special and yet he just gets automatically picked for every game. Other than that Hunt should start obviously but the FAI seem to have something against him so it doesnt look like he'll ever be first choice. Hardly a surprise line up anyway, we have no depth at all. I'd like to see Stephen Ireland back but again it looks like he's fallen out with the FAI so he probably wont be back for quite a while. |

Carsley is still such a good player, hugely underrated. Duffers is getting back to good whilst Robbie Keane is on great form. Doyle has been great for us and Dunne is a class act. So there's still some good quality in there.
Disappointed to see Hunt out. McGeady really disappoints me in the Ireland shirt - I know how well he does for Celtic. Liam Miller is just a disappointment all round - watched him recently against Liverpool and he was simply a waste of space, Stephen Hunt would bring so much more. |

On Youtube there is the goal of Brady in the match Ireland-Brazil 1987.

He needs to be played on the left wing. He had a blinder against Denmark and a few poor games after that and he seemded to be the one who got the rough end of the stick. RTE's pundits were too quick to jump on his back. I just think the likes of Dunphy & Brady don't rate Scottish football and with McGeady not being Irish either, they have just taken a disliken to him. I remember when he beat Benfica on his own, they were talking about him and they were just like 'he's not that good' & 'Benfica must be having an offday'. Too much ignorance showed towards SPHell players. On Aiden McGeadys present form, I honestly feel he could start in any EPL midfield. He along with McDonald, are the only reasons Celtic have any chance of winning the title this year. The pressure will be off him tomorrow night and I can guarantee he has a blinder. If he isn't Ireland's best player against Brazil, I will resign my Mod status |

Phwo. Those are bold words. They are bolder than Batman himself.
I'm expecting big things from Aidaninho now. |

He has come on leaps & bounds this season. He was never really all that fast but not he is steaming past defenders 3 & 4 at a time. I'll never forget him roasting Nesta but ran the ball out of play then and Nesta stood and clapped him. Unbeleivable

Ive been really impressed with him from what ive seen of Celtic this season so hopefully he carries his form into the internationals. He hasnt performed well enough so far for us but going by your posts above, hes having a great season.
He's a local lad as well, obviously hes Scottish but his family are from a few miles down the road from me! |

Did you watch the Ireland game by the way? Have to run on so no time to debate but MOTM easy for McGeady despite Ronnie Whelan being an over-critical fud. Duff gives it away 'ach he's rusty'..McGeady beats his man and delivers a great ball in the box 'ach he's still too frustrating' I'll not be resiging my Mod status just yet |

The bits that I watched, McGeady looked OK.
But my mate was at Croker and reported that he was yet again rubbish. |

Our squad had some unknown players (for you) because Dunga wants to experiment some younger players to pick the squad to play the Olympic Games in Beijing, cause they only allow 3 players over 23yo. Lúcio and Juan were injured, Fred is coming from a long period out of the fields and Maxwell is rubbish

I was gutted that Alexandre Pato - the world's next big football star - didn't play. I heard he had an injury, but whatever the reason, his time will surely come sooner rather than later.
Brilliant goal by Robinho. I can't recall a goalscoring shot from outside the box that was hit with so little power. But such was the precision of Robinho to pass it through Carsley's legs into the corner that it still hit the back of the net. Saw some of Aidan McGeady. He takes too many touches at times. I recall one counter attack when he passed the ball to Duff (I think) far too late: had he passed it earlier Duff would have been through on goal. But he's a talent for sure. As Gonzaga said, Dunga is focussing on the Olympics this summer because it's the only major football title Brazil haven't won. Add to that their arch rivals Argentina are the reigning champions, then one can understand Dunga's need to prepare a young team that can win the tournament. |

Poor performance from us, we never threatened and gave the ball away far too easily. The defending was quite good though, we limited Brazil to passing around outside the box for long spells and weren't threatened much until the goal went in.
McGeady was ok but didnt really do much, gave the ball away too much but then so did the whole team so you cant really single him out. |

It was quite lucky. Given didn't see it until it came out from under Carsley's legs and I don't think Robinho intended on doing that. If Carsley hadn't of been there, Given would have gobbled it up. |

Well, if he did intend to slide it through Carsley's legs and still see it going into the far corner from that angle and in turn fooling Given, then I bow down to the guy.
However, I'm not sure. I was watching the game as it went in and my first impression was that it took a lot of luck by going through Carsley's legs. It was still a very classy goal, but I'm not sure the intent was there. However, if you're correct then yeah, great work Robinho. |

I didn't see all of this game, but the part I did Brazil were knocking it about like a training match - some of their touches were great to watch.

i agree, it was definately intentional |
