The other clash tonight from the 'group of death', Group D, that starts at 19:30 GMT. Angola who were in no way shamed at the World Cup in Germany will still be the underdogs facing a rebuilding South African side.

I predict:

Angola 1-2 South Africa

ever since 2004 south africa have not been the same footballing nation as before..there is no longer a fear of playing them as there was during the 90s.

Very true. The same could be said for Nigeria and Cameroon also. There was always a great deal of fear as they were powerful footballing nations that played superb football and commanded respect. Yet that just isn't the case anymore.

Goal for Angola and they lead 1-0!

Flavio floats it into Manucho and a fairly dull game has been fired into life.

Very scrappy. Possession is fairly even with South Africa looking a little panicky everywhere on the pitch.

Angola are currently good for their lead it must be said.

With eight minutes left Aaron Mokoena wheeled away in celebration after it appeared his glancing header after a goalkeeping era had crossed the line, i think either it hadn't or there was an offside as the referee gave a free kick to Angola in their own area.

Time very much against S. Africa now!

Equaliser 1-1 with mere minutes left. Something out of nothing from Van Heerden who let fly with a real screamer outside the box.

Due to many stoppages there should be a great deal of injury time for the sides to search for a winner.

5 minutes were added on but neither could find a winner and a second successive draw in Group D sees the game finish 1-1. It turned into an intriguing battle, and perhaps S.Africa will feel a little aggrieved not to have won overall on the balance of the play. Credit to the strong Angolans though.
