I think that Ferrari will win again but this time more clearly because McLaren will be worse and don't think that Renault can win.

Yer Renault will be stronger theres no doubt, but Heikki Kovalainen will be one to watch i think, his partnered with Lewis Hamilton could well turn out to be a dealdy combination. Kimi will be the favourite to retain the championship, but i cant see him doing it to be honest.

Im hoping Jensen Button can put in a good performance this year after an embarrasing one last season.

What's going on in sunny Spain?!

Shocked Surprised

Quote:
Racist motorsport fans who hurled abuse at Lewis Hamilton could cost Spain its Grand Prix if they strike again.

A group of Spanish spectators blacked up their faces and wore wigs and T-shirts daubed with 'Hamilton's familly' (sic), before hurling abuse at the Formula One star at the weekend.

Witnesses said the group shouted "black s***" and "f****** blacks" whenever Hamilton made a pitstop at Barcelona's Montmelo circuit, as he tested a new car on Saturday.

Abused: Lewis Hamilton pictured during testing at the Circuit de Catalunya on Saturday
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has condemned the behaviour and threatened Spain with punishment if further racism is reported.

An FIA spokesman said: "FIA are surprised and disappointed at the abuse directed at Lewis Hamilton.

"An act of this kind is a clear breach of the principles enshrined in the FIA statutes, and any repetition will result in sanctions."

Test team manager Indy Lull said: "It is not right the way Lewis is being treated."

Hamilton is unpopular in Spain due to his tense relationship with former McLaren teammate Fernando Alonso last year.

Many Spanish fans see Hamilton as the reason Alonso quit the McLaren team early to re-join Renault after a pit-stop incident at the 2007 Hungarian Grand Prix.

Spain is set to host two Grand Prixes this year - the Spanish race at Circuit de Catalunya in April and the European Grand Prix in Valencia in August.

This latest incident isn't the first time Spanish sports fans have been accused of racial abuse.

In 2004, English football players Shaun Wright-Phillips and Rio Ferdinand were subjected to monkey chants by some Spanish spectators at a friendly in Real Madrid's Bernabeu stadium.

FIFA fined the Spanish football association £44,750.

The same year, Spanish football coach Luis Aragones was fined £2,000 by UEFA after he was filmed calling French Arsenal player Thierry Henry "a black s***".

Last year, Aragones successfully appealed the fine.

It's ashaming. It's obvious people hate Hamilton here but this behaviour will only damage Cataluña and Spain in general. There are other better ways to show him he should shut up and leave Alonso alone...
Anyway, I hope those people get punished and those events won't happen again.

After Hamilton was targeted by spectators the FIA put the Spanish motorsport federation on notice that any recurrence would lead to sanctions widely interpreted as a clear warning that Spain could be stripped of it,s two grand prix. Such abuse is a criminal offence under Spanish law I am lead to understand I could be wrong. This is a problem in other sports as well ,it has to be stamped out

Italian lawyers still want to speak to McLaren over last summer,s spy scandel. I think McLaren have payed for this £50 m fine and lost all construction points let,s hope this does not carry on over into this season.

What are the odds that Renault will get busted for spying? It wouldn't surprise me if crybaby Alonso has some copies of McLaren and Ferrari shop/R&D manuals laying around somewhere.

Was thinking of going to the Grand Prix here weekend after next but I just get back from the Gold Coast on that Thursday and tickets are pretty insanely expensive.

Will give it a miss this year.

I'm going to try and get to Silverstone this year because their current contract end's in 2009.Silvrtstone are putting money into new paddocks complex a new business park and hotels. Even so Bernie Ecclestone has not guarantee that a British GP would stay on the calendar which is a bit sad seeing the amount of british drivers.Going to the Formula 3 at Oulton Park Easter weekend a hell of a lot cheaper, and far better to get photo's.
