Surprised to see Brown ahead of Richards, unless he is injured, although Richards has really been displaying his inexperience of late.

But hasn't he been playing at CB lately for Man City? I'm pretty sure he played CB against Arsenal at least. He's a much better player at RB. A bit too inexperienced to play at CB right now. He can make a few mistakes out at RB and still make up for it with his pace; but at CB, it's a thin line he's walking on.

Yeah he mostly plays at CB for City, although he has always been played at right back for England as he just is not good enough to vie for a place at centre back. I agree with having Wesley at right back in the absence of Neville at the moment.

I'm not watching the game, but keeping track by text/gamecast. So far doesn't sound too good. But hell, at least Capello is up and screaming at his players unlike the past two England managers.

Wes Brown (soon to be ex-England. as stated in the text) is apparently playing terribly.

They are playing like they have never met before. First game and new system may bring nerves, but the Swiss are looking more dangerous than us going forward certainly. No-one is getting close enough to Rooney to create chances off of him. It's Cole and Bentley Vs Swtzerland.

GOAL!!! 1-0 England and it's Jenas with a little tap in after a great ball from Gerrard to Joe Cole who proceeded to skin the Swiss full back and lay it beautifully on a plate for the Spurs Midfielder.

Hopefully this will kick it into higher gear.

Kick it into first gear at least.

This is such a poor game of football.

The sheer amount of Midfielders out there is making the middle appear like the M25. Congested. We keep trying to force a pass when there is not one on. Just hold the ball!

1-1. Debut goal for the young Swiss man.

Good striker, squeezed it past the Defender and James could only get fingertips to it.

Haha! 2-1 already, great build up play involving Rooney and Gerrard leaves an easy tap in for SWP.

Swiss RB is having a nightmare. Totally amateur defending. Both England goals have been too easy down there. Where's Degen?

Good start for Capello and England. But lots and lots and lots of work to do. They still looked poor. (only got to catch the last 15 minutes)

Hey, plenty of time until the World Cup. Capello might die of old age between now and then.
