The draw has been made, with five K3 League sides, two new National League sides, five university teams and three other non-league sides.

The four University sides that won the national University competitions in 2007 were given direct byes to the third round, and K3 Champions Seoul United and Konygreen Cup winners Chungju Solveige given byes to the second. The two new National League sides have to enter the qualifying stages, and they were given byes to the second round too.

There are more rounds after, when the K-league clubs enter.

The whole Korean football pyramid isn't huge. So they invite University teams to play in the competition and also local neighborhood teams. Technically, you and I could go to Korea, and make a neighborhood team and possibly make it into this competition on invitation if we are good enough. Smile

As a whole it's a pretty long competition now. The competition used to be played on a very short timescale. However, to elevate the quality of competition it's been spread out throughout the season. Now it starts in early March, and other rounds played in April, July, August and November. The final is usually played in December.
