Wales 3 Norway 0 |
|
I didn't see the game, just saw the goals on tv.
The pitch was poor, but John Toshack had Ryan Giggs (who has now retired from international footy) give the Wales team a bit of a pre-match talk, and the result seemed to show that Wales are getting on the right track. Norway missed out on qualifying for EURO 2008, but were using this as a starter for their qualifier for WC 2010. Wales were missing a few players through injury, and hadn't beaten Norway since a 1-0 win in 1982. Fletcher got the first, and Koumas the other two, and two shots hit the post - not bad from a team rated so low in the rankings - 29 places behind Norway in fact. |
