Pointless Topics

I was just wondering if there was any need for such topics as

'what is the waether like outside?' I just see this thread as a place for people to up their post count for no reason. Doesnt bring any good discussions to the table either.

Maybe i am being to harsh, but seems pointless to me.

I have also just seen someone has put the little caption under the header saying this one is pointless as well. I just thought this is where you go to post an idea to improve the site. How else am i to get my opinion across?

Don't worry to much about it mate, if you deem something as useless ignore it and don't visit there. But I see where your coming from. I guess its up to what the Mods/Admins want on the forum really.

THe thread i chose to highlight has no real purpose. People just post pointless one word answers. This is to hopefully benefit the site, but i see it has fallen upon deaf ears, so fair play.

The weather thread isn't essential and it isn't a thread that gets a lot of hits.

But I guess it's a stopgap thread for any weather reports. It's interesting to hear all the various and extreme reports from all the members who live on different parts of the World.

It's not taking up much of a big space and does no harm.

Very true, there is no harm in it what so ever. I just remember the last time i visited the site, which to be fair was a while ago, people were complaining that there was not good enough topics to get a decent debate going. Another forum was even made up. I just view topics such as the weather thread is pointless and only serves as a way of boosting post count.

Yeah, there are plenty of members that just post pointless posts in pointless threads which boost their post count. But it doesn't really effect anything else.

As long as they aren't acting like idiots, spamming [I supposed that's a form of pointless posting for post count boosts] or violating the joint.

I think the forum has improved a little, in terms of which members are active and which aren't. There are a few new posters around who've brought some different things to the board. The only real problem now is the lack of real topic and the technical annoyances with the site (ie. hyperlinking Clubs & players which messes up posting).

lol, i seem to remember a certain dem12345 along with spus, ianwright and someone else who's name is beyond me but supported Man United and think was only on here to wind people up. Glad to here they have gone.

I think the forum is good as how it is...(Maybe a chatbox would be cool but ok )

You don't need to take the post count so seriously. Its not as if you are rewarded with anything if you reach a certain amount. Topics like that are just somewhere to talk about general things.

And if you class the weather topic as pointless, then whats the points of others like birthdays and pictures threads then?

Theres plenty of pointless threads on the forum but if you dont like them then just ignore them. I never really bother with the weather thread or any of the game threads but if theyre not doing any harm then theres no real problem with them
