Administration has finally hit Bournemouth, joining Leeds and Luton with points deduction.
Unfortunately I cannot see the Cherries being the last club form Division 1 or 2 to face the same fate. The money is not there in the lower leagues to support the number of full time players, even with a strong support from the local community. Clubs will go into adminsitration and some will not survive, Bournemouth may well be the first of these. Having sold the ground and become a community owned club, where else is there to go?
In the next five years I can see most teams in the lower two leagues increasingly relying on semi-professional players to support a core of a small professional squads. The English football team will be down to two competitive leagues, the Premier League and Championship, and there will be no teams coming up to challenge for places.
