I was driving past where they're building the new CCFC stadium, when is it supposed to be finished? It's come a long way since I was last down there but looks like it's got quite a way to go.

The stadium should be ready for the start of the 2009/10 season.

Was going to get myself a season ticket for this season but thought may aswell wait to they got the new stadium. Anyone know what the Capacity will be i've heard lots of different figures quoted. From the same amount as Ninian about 20,000 to 25,000 even up to 30,000.

The only problem is the pitch will probably be bad as arent the Blues using it aswell.

Its true there are alot of fans like that in Cardiff, the thing is most of the ones that have done what you say dont even go to games regularly, just go to the games against the fans they hate the most and cause trouble. Or go to games when the club has reduced prices to get more people in.

I don;'t mean to sound harsh but would not really want someone such as yourself suddenly purchasing a season ticket to my club. You are a Spurs fan quite clearly mate.

Yes but Cardiff get like 15,000 fans per game they welcome the money with open arms. Since i live in Cardiff i know probably about 30-40 people who have season tickets who support teams such as Liverpool and Man Utd ahead of Cardiff. And there are alot more.

Also i do go to several games per season its not like im just going to go there for the first time.

I wouldnt go trying to get a season ticket at a prem team if i lived in a city with one unless it was Spurs obviously, but Cardiff need the money and since they dont sell out Ninian Park they'd welcome anyone whod like to give them a few hundred pounds or whatever.

So yes i am a Spurs fan not a cardiff fan, but is it my fault i was born in the city that my club dont play football in, surely im allowed to go and watch football. So yes i am a Spurs fan but i am more of a football fan. I watch any football when its on the tele. I would go and watch Spurs more regularly if my parents would take me, but i cant go by myself and none of my friends are Spurs fans.

Also there arent actually that many City fans, in my year there are about 5 Cardiff fans that dont support another team.

But i understand where you are coming from if I lived in London and had a season ticket to Spurs i wouldnt really welcome a Everton fan who wanted a season ticket to Spurs. But since Cardiff have no waiting list may aswell you know. If there ever was a waiting list i may not bother going and let the actually Cardiff fans have the season ticket.

So i am a Spurs fan, who wants to watch football without having to travel 2 hours each week. Razz

I don't blame you mate if you can't get down to see Spurs play. I often go to see Hartlepool play (or the woeful Boro) if my mates have spare tickets.

But count your self lucky it's only a 2 hour journey for you, I have a 6 hour bus journey coming up soon to go to the Lane Crying or Very sad

Originally it was going to be a 30,000 seater stadium, however for them to start work quicker they removed most of the 2nd tier. So in May 2009 the stadium is planned to be complete as a 25,000 seater stadium, however Cardiff will have the option to install further seating to the 2nd tier if required making it a 30,000 seater stadium.

Will be great for the club and the city.

Yes Marks and Spencer will be placed there, aswell as a new Asda and JJB Sports.
Also Costco have signed up to build a retail complex there.

Yes Cardiff has alot of shops already, but this is slightly outside of town. Probably be very similar to that of Swansea - where they have the retail complex next to the Liberty.

Next season will be Cardiff's last season at Ninian Park, I will be sad to let it go as the 'intimidating' atmosphere will go. The new stadium will hold I think something like 26,350 and will be able to be expanded up to 60,000 if need be.

I dont know who it was that said that Cardiff's hooligans only go to a handfull of games, but they generally do go to all games. Im not saying hooliganism is a good thing, but they do go to every home game and almost every away game.

The new stadium has the steelwork of one stand almost complete on the side nearest to Ninian Park. The complex will have a hotel, JJB Sports, Costco, Marks & Sparks and Asda.

The stadium naming rights havent yet been sold, so there is no clue of what the name will be.

Also I read someone saying something about the state of the pitch. Well it shouldnt be too much of a problem as about 30% of the pitch is going to be artofficial grass so it shouldnt cut up too much.
