I'll take it, I thought we had the better of the match and it would have been terribly unlucky not to have gotten any sort of result from the game. We had over 120 more passes than them in the game, more possesion and more passes completed, the only thing missing was somebody up front who we could actually play the ball to. I don't know what Fergie is thinking when playing Rooney up there, might aswell play him in defence and get something out of him..... But anyway that away goal could prove to be a very crucial one come the end of the second leg, Tevez has a habit of scoring some big goals. Long may it continue.

I will say one thing though, it saddens me to say it and I'm not just referring to tonights game but I don't think Giggs has it in him anymore, certainly not as first choice. He has barely put in a big performance all season whereas Nani looks sharp, settled and up for it. If reputation was dropped completely in the selection process every week, Giggs would be on the bench. If it was down to me he would be dropped in the next game, Nani has earned his way into the first XI for me.

The second leg will be a very big match, it's set up to be an absolute cracker. How good is Benzema? Hopefully someone injures him before the next match.....

Shame that Man Utd scored.

Laughing It wasn't too bad, could have been worse! Next time I want blessings for Manchester United from you! Twisted Evil

So you didn't leave the bar early this time? Wink

Didn't see the game but saw both goals. Great finish from Benzema.

United should finish them at OT.

I expected a Lyon to give Manchester United a game here - they started the Champions League very slowly but gradually found some form to push themselves through. I never really would have expected them to win though so Tevez scoring in the final few minutes isn't a shock.

And that's probably just edged United through. I know there's a whole game still to go, but with it being at Old Trafford, and them having an away goal (which gives you a great deal of control), i can't see anything other than a comprehensive United victory.

Shocking what happened to Ronaldo with the lazer type pen in his face. Shocking behaviour of that supporter and hopefully something is done.

It's a shame Lyon conceded late on, now it's really going to be tough to go through. It's a shame, because i can't see the future being particularly bright for Lyon. Just a 1-2 years ago Lyon were much, much better than they are now. Arguably the best team in Europe at one point. Then they sold many of their best players, and it looks like they'll be selling more of their best players at the end of the season.

It's a shame because 1-2 years ago they looked like REAL CL contenders. They were tipped by many to win it, but now they are something of a soft touch - a routine pathway through to the next round for the big guns.

We have Juninho, we have Benzema. 0-0 is impossible, but a draw why not. I'm confident.

I'm sorry but I have to chuckle at this. Aren't you the one that criticized Wenger for saying similar things after certain games that didn't go Arsenal's way?

Yet, here you are using the same excuses that you criticized?

If you're not the same person, then I apologize for the mistaken identity; but if you are, you're a hypocrite.

Yeah it is said that United are after him. But seriously United dont need him if Saha is staying.

Indeed, it's possible. But the way i look at it is this - Manchester United were favourites before the tie, and now have the better result from the first leg, as well as taking it back to their home ground. The goal at the end is disastrous really, as it means United can be content with 0-0 at their own stadium... They're in total control and they specialise with counter-attacks in that situation. You only have to look back to when United and Arsenal met in the league at Highbury, United sat back and countered, being the away side and nearly went ahead twice through that method. They've done it on countless times before. And they repeatedly do it to us (Liverpool) year after year.

Basically, you're not in control, and that's going to make life very difficult.

Talking about the second leg. Its home match for us. So u can really look the record last year (I am refering to 7-1 thrashing to Roma despite having likes of Totti with 8-3 aggregate win)

So i am looking at a comfortable victory at Old Trafford for us. The reason the match ended in 1-1 draw was because we adopted a defensive lineup without Tevez. If we would have put Tevez in at the beginning with 4-4-2 formation then United would have won the match by a comfortable margin. The result against Lyon was just because of the tactics of United and nothing else.
