Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini will not sack coach Francesco Guidolin despite his team's poor run in Serie A.

Zamparini was fuming after Sunday's 3-1 defeat at Torino that marked their fourth loss in five league games.

The outspoken Palermo supremo pointed the finger at Guidolin for his team's disappointing run so far.

"Once again Guidolin has not been able to manage the game," said Zamparini.

"All we needed was to get a defender in when we were leading in order to protect our result.

"Our coach should be more humble because he is too proud. That is why we have conceded three goals on Sunday and that is why we are in this situation."

Defeat relegated the Sicilian giants to 10th in Serie A and, although his team are just five points behind Udinese, who hold the last UEFA Cup qualifying spot, Zamparini revealed he would gladly agree for his team to avoid the drop by season's end right now.

"I would sign to finish in 17th position in the standings," he said.

"I am terrorised."

Zamparini has stated he will not sack Guidolin despite admitting it was a bad decision to bring him back to the club.

Guidolin returned to guide Palermo for a fourth spell back in November following the dismissal of coach Stefano Colantuono.

Colantuono's sacking came as a surprise considering Palermo had taken five wins and six draws in 15 games.

"I have no regrets regarding the sacking of Colantuono," said Zamparini.

"But to have brought our former coach back to the club has been a mistake. Nevertheless, I have no intention to sack Guidolin."

People are talking about Newcastle and hiring Keegan for a second time and saying how it's a bad move - surely 4 times is just taking the mickey, then?

When he says these things usually, the following week, he does the contrary. So Monday Colantuono will probably come back as Palermo coach Smile
