Bundesliga struggles Nurnberg have sacked coach Hans Meyer following a 1-1 draw at home to Hansa Rostock at the weekend.
The reigning German Cup holders are currently 16th in the league table and facing a fight to avoid relegation at the end of the season.
Nurnberg's sporting director, Martin Bader, told Kicker: "We have reacted to the sporting situation of the last weeks and months.
"We informed Hans Meyer of our decision on Monday evening.
"It is a real mess, but we wanted to give the new coach as many games as possible to turn the corner. There is never really a good time for such decisions." |
