I won't resign - Eriksson, but...... |
|
Sven says he won't resign after todays 1-0 setback to Northern Ireland. What do you think? Resign, Sacked or Continue.....Where's 'Calamity' James when you need someone else to take the Heat???
Edited: I did put in another voting option, that was Remain as Coach, but it didn't get picked up.....Maybe that says something in itself, not many seem to desire that choice...... |

I think he should resign because he hasnt done THAT bad of a job to be humiliated by being sacked! He should resign and keep bit of dignity!

What good has he done for the National team?
One of the best squads of players England have had since 1966 and he's made us look like a bunch of part timers. I know being an England fan i shouldn't take winning for granted but please N. Ireland aren't one of the greatest teams around, (sorry dont want to take anything away from there performance this evening) and to loose 1-0 was horrifying enough but the performance was twice as bad. Constantly playing players out of position. Strange tacticts. Unjustified belief in players. And what hurts most is complete lack of passion. I think its about time we looked forward towards the new breed of English managers coming through. I know Pearce has just started out, but look at the passion he has put back into Man City. Or maybe Robson, Curbishly or big Sam, or who would complain if Venebales came back? God I would be far happier if one of them managed the national team, at least they'd put there heart into it and maybe spent less time messing around with out of date italian models. Send the Swede home and for god sake make sure he never leaves there. SVEN OUT....... |

I think he should resign after the World Cup, or as soon as England fail to qualify.
There will be a lot of calls for his head now but i dont think it is wise to change managers halfway thru a qualifying run and just a few months before the biggest tournament they face. Someone just needs to pull him aside and tell him to settle down, forget about the Denmark loss, go back to 4-4-2, and either play Becks in position or drop him. |

Sack him.
It would be about time, yes this is the first qualifier he has lost but we were expected to win it. Look at the Wales game too that was a terrible performance. He is supposed to encourage the team and instruct them he just sits on the bench and watches ! I agree with everything Ian Wright said after the game. Wrighty for England |

Can you elaborate on what Ian touched on, please?

Yeah sure.
Well first off he was totally gutted with the result. He just sat there for a while before saying anything. Then he was talking about the passion and how much Northern Ireland wanted it and there fans wanted it, saying that Eriksson should tell the players what it meant to NI to beat England and instore passion more passion in them. He also said Eriksson should of been shouting from the box , saying that Steven McClaren looked more like the manager than Sven as McClaren was nearly always in the box. He said something about Sven being behind him in the suit and could be anyone from the FA. He did say fair play no NI they played a good organised game. |

Agree with Big Jono.
After October's match, if England can't qualify, then he resgin. I'm also angry about what he did, but I think it's risky to change manager now. Give him another chance to take the responsibility. Don't just leave this mess to another manager, and go away. |

Sven needs to do what is best for our National team and resign. He is holding out to get the sack, knowing that he will get a huge pay packet in return. If he resigns I guess he gets nothing! Maybe that is the reason he is so reluctant to resign?
And I didnt see Wright say about the passion etc, but that is exactly what I touched on in the other topic about the game. I did hear an interview with Rodney Marsh who put it to Eriksson that many would say Sanchez out-coached him. Well done that man for being so honest and upfront with Sven. Svens answer was a load of broken English. Never seen him so lost for words. He knows his days are numbered. |
