I've heard Anderson, and Nani getting praise during the game - and also at the end of the game.
They mentioned how special Anderson looks also in the first half.

They got praise, of course they got praise - they were superb today. They got nowhere near as much praise as Rooney though, and Nani certainly deserved more.

It's not just that though. It's the fact that nothing remotely negative was said about Rooney missing so many good opportunities, other than Hanson sarcastically joking at the end.

And what about Shearer saying Rooney is VERY GOOD in the air! What do you think about that?! You know as well as i do he's absolute garbage in the air.

Oh and ''Wayne ruins Arsenal's day'' was the comment to end it all. Nani was the best man on the field. 1 goal and 2 or maybe even 3 assists, as well as some over superb play, and even a bit of show boating near the end to fill in for Ronaldo in that department. Rooney had a good game, and did run Arsenal's defence ragged, but that was all. He wasn't clinical, he didn't punish them like they should've been. Nani also ran the defence ragged. Gave the full back a nightmare of a time, and also did the business with the final touch too.

Sticky is spot on, 100%.

United's best players were Nani and Anderson. Rooney led the line well but those muppets in the studio just keep on spouting praise about him yet his finishing was shocking and he got caught offside a few times too. The most annoying thing is that even when he blatantly cocks things up, they still find a way to salute the guy.

Arsenal lost their heads again. Eboue's tackle, Eduardo's studs up challenge, Gallas and Hoyte kicking Nani...they are really bad losers. Disgraceful.

I loved the bit when Nani was juggling the ball on his head - he took the raw p!ss out of Hoyte there. Hoyte and Djimi Traore were shocking (I know it was Armand but he played like Djimi today).

So how about you forget about what the commentators say, and give your opinion on how the game went?

Anyone watching could see that Nani and Anderson were the best players on the park today. Everyone talks about Arsenals youngsters, but you can see that it was money well spent on these 2. Fabregas was made to look very ordinary today. As was the rest of the Arsenal team.

I am now waiting for the excuses regarding injuries, resting players, being an unimportant FA Cup tie etc etc.

Truth is that Arsenal just got a thumping by Uniteds young stars.

A convincing win by Man Utd. They made Arsenal look like....Newcastle.

Don't get so defensive Doggster! He's just making a perfectly valid point about the amount of attention Rooney gets. I'm sure Sticky would admit that United throughly deserved the win and that Arsenal got a true footballing lesson tonight.

Shame this result didn't come in the league, but well done to the boys for this awesome display (especially Anderson, Nani, Rooney and, surprisingly enough, Fletcher).

They went on about him like he was out of this world - like he had just banged in 4 or 5. Then they show his highlights and it was filled with misses. Good build up play, but misses all the same.

comments about Rooney getting all the praise are right to be fair.
Anderson worked his socks off and got a standing ovation from the crowd, so at least they can see how well he played.
same goes for Nani.

Eboue is a burden to Arsenal if you ask me
he gets far too hot headed in matches and loses his cool
he could have cost his team today, if they weren't already 3-0 down

Yeah, i'm not sure they should keep Eboue. He is good, but he isn't good enough for them at right-back now, and he isn't good enough at right-midfield.

I bet losing 4-0 is just as embrassing for the Gunners. We were managerless at that time anyway.

It isn't being defensive mate - if he had left it at the first post, then I wouldn't have replied, however he felt the need to post yet another. Rooney did not have a bad game at all - yes he missed some chances, but he was playing the lone striker role, and completely ripped Arsenal to shreds. Give the lad some credit for that at least!

Well maybe if Fletcher was given a game on a more regular basis you would see those kind of performances.

Fletcher was definately up there as United's top performer today.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the game, despite the fact that it became a one sided drubbing. United were quite simply top class, and they gave a performance that has been severely lacking every time we have met them in both the League and the Cup since we came up. Throughout the side they looked talented and disciplined, with Anderson putting in a performance many have come to expect from him now after his great start at the club. Rooney was very good also, creating many problems for Arsenal's severely below par Arsenal back four, making Gallas in particular look a fool on certain occassions. Carrick was spraying the ball around well, Evra got forward with purpose and Nani provided some sublime moments of trickery down the left hand side.

However for me I will give the man of the match award to Darren Fletcher. He worked tirelessly throughout the ninety minutes, constantly pressurising Arsenal when they were in possession, forcing mistakes, passing the ball well and offering his own unique threat in the Arsenal penalty area. His work rate was phenomenal.

Arsenal were very poor indeed, Hoyte looking very uncomfortable at the back along with Gallas and Traore.

O Dogg, you're trying to convince someone who is always using "humorous" Rooney avatars (he had that "facial" one before this) to "give him some credit"? lol

Of course they were over the top in the praise for Rooney - they always are with top English players, but do as most other people do and ignore it. As I said earlier, it was plain to see that Nani and Anderson were the stars of the game today.

Erm, i did give him credit. And i certainly didn't say he had a bad game.

I actually said he played well and ran the Arsenal defence ragged.

But there were many negatives that the commentators ignored completely - no way was i going to ignore them also.

The only reason i make sure i point stuff out like this is because it's staggering how far up his arse the commentators are. I've never known anything like it.

It's not far on the other players. Players like Fletcher and Nani who were certainly better today, but probably didn't win the MOTM award, and the former certainly didn't get even a small amount of the credit Rooney received from the commentators and pundits - which he was far more deserving of.

I'm not being harsh on Rooney, i'm being fair on the other's. The disparity between them and Rooney is unreal.

I can't tell you how many times I broke out into laughter in that game, it was just too, too good!

Sir Alex took the opportunity to rest a handful of his big hitters and I looked at the team beforehand and thought "This could be risky", how wrong I was... Arsenal were absolutely dominated, bullied, destroyed and embarrassed. It looked like they only had 10 men from the first few minutes of the game nevermind when Eboue the cheat let his true colours shine again. The commitment and harrying the players showed from the beginning until the end was top drawer and it just never gave Arsenal the chance to even think about settling into the game... Oh my, did that show...

Rooney showed the reason why I personally think that he's a far more important player to the team than Ronaldo, no contest at all between them in my mind. He didn't have a good a game as the commentators will have you believe, I'll be admissive about that but he wasn't far off his best. His commitment and passion in playing a role which isn't even his was so refreshing to see and let's face it, bullying the second best central defence pairing in the league is no mean feat. In the past week we've been able to see two different performances from Manchester United, one with Rooney and one without, and the magnitude of difference between when he is playing and when he's not is immense. I don't believe for one minute that if he wasn't on the field tonight and Tevez or Saha was in his place, that the team's performance would have been near that level. He brings that security to the top level of the pitch for us and without him the team looks incomplete.

But I'm not going to concentrate on just one player the whole team was on fire tonight. I've got to give credit to Carrick aswell, he's in my ideal first XI every week as long as it's not beside Hargreaves, he intertwines play exceedingly well and when United are on the attack he acts as a pivot in the middle of the park switching play and seeking out passes almost like a quarter back would in the NFL. When he's on form like he was tonight he just looks every bit a United player. It also helps when the player/s playing beside him are in the zone aswell and they were tonight, Anderson is just quality he plays well consistently and it's got to the point where I'm expectant of a brilliant performance from him everytime. Not bad for a teenager who has just been bought in the past 7 months, doesn't speak English and plys his trade in the centre of the park, that's really testament to how good he is. He can break forward and pass people with ease or he can bed in and do a more than adequate defensive job, most of the time he just does both and I don't think anyone is complaining. One of his attributes which has surprised me the most is his strength, he's very strong and can hold off players much larger than himself which is probably going to be one of the most valuable things for him in this league, I honestly think that he has the ability to become one of the most complete midfielders in the world. But out of the three midfielders today my special mention goes to Darren Fletcher - he has his critics at the club and some people don't think that he's good enough, he had the opportunity to leave in search of first team football at a smaller club but instead he has stayed to fight his corner and for that I have only respect. He has been frustrated for much of this season and really for most of his career at United but every single time he is called upon he pulls the shirt on and goes out and performs to a high standard. Tonight, and not for the first time, he absolutely ran his legs off for his team-mates chasing every ball in his proximity forcing players to rush and make mistakes, it was great to see. He is going to be a very valuable player for Manchester United over the years and I don't see how anyone can question his position in the squad.

My man of the match was Nani by the way, I haven't been that impressed with him as of yet as I don't really think that he has settled completely but that's understandable. Tonight he showed why £17million was paid for him, over the next few years under the guidance of Fergie and Quieroz he will flourish because he has the attributes to do so. His body will be moulded similarly to that of Ronaldo over the next year or so and he will benefit from it greatly because that has been my question over him, is he too weak? He took his goal tonight with aplomb, controlled with the right, hit with the left and boom back of the net, perfect. He's absolutely lightning fast and I'm starting to warm to his arrogance as long as he backs it up, I mean how could you not love the way he taunted Arsenal tonight? He needs to work on his crossing though, it's not good enough but hey he's got loads of time.

But like I said, the whole team deserve credit after a performance like that, I was actually quite annoyed that it was only 4-0... It really should have been 6, 7 or 8 to be fair but I can't complain, can I?

I have to take a pop at Arsenal to finish off though sorry, their players' petulant attitudes are absolutely pathetic, their true colours always show when the chips are down. It was really embarrassing and if I was an Arsenal fan I'd be livid at the way they act, some of them really need to wise up. The less said about Eboue the better but I can't begin to tell you how f*cking satisfying it was to see Gallas kicking out at Nani, it just showed how hurt he was and after he'd tried to play mind games in the media today it was so sweet Another OG for the scrapbook aswell haha, unlucky wee Willy. Oh and did anyone else see the earthquake during the game? Just as Adebayor was going into the box, the earth jilted and I don't know what it was but maybe because he's so tall he was affected the most but he had the most horrible tumble. I hope we can get to the bottom of this
