I would recommend coaching to anyone, There is no greater thrill in practicing something on the training field and then seeing it come off in a match. I have read some of the threads on here, and would tell anyone interested, that the earlier you start the better. If there is a negative, in my experience, was that all to often you will find yourself looking at a game, being on the television or in attendance and looking at everything through your coaches eyes, rather than as a spectator. Also I would suggest that if you can find a team to manage then take it. It's one thing to coach at a soccer school, but a greater learning curve when you can see the plers in a game, trying to put you ideas into practice.
