Yes it should make some tight, tense games. Ireland have to be odds-on now to go through tho.

"Come on Ireland" or not "Come on Ireland". That is the question.
France in play-off sounds interesting. Twisted Evil

That would be amazing if they did have to go to the playoffs!

That would certainly be a tough draw for another team tho, meeting France in the playoff for the WC.

Its not even guarenteed that France have qualified yet though. They might not even make the playoffs.
Ireland - Switzerland game is on tomorrow, pretty simple, if we win were though, if we lose were out and a draw means we need france to lose

France is a great team and should be at the world cup, but i wont shed a tear if they are not. They have so manyh great players that they only have themselves to blame if they dont qualify.

Well let see:
Quote:

Team..................|MP...|W...|D...|L...|GF...|GA...|Pts
-------------------------------------------------------------
Israel..................|10...|4....|6....|0...|15...|10...|18
Switzerland.........|9....|4....|5....|0....|18...|7....|17
France.................|9....|4....|5....|0....|10...|2....|17
Ireland Republic...|9....|4....|4....|1....|12....|5....|16
Cyprus.................|9....|1....|1....|7....|8.....|16...|4
Faroe Islands.......|10...|0...|1....|9....|4.....|27...|1

Supposing that France will draw with Cyprus is a waste of time.
Quote:

Team..................|MP...|W...|D...|L...|GF...|GA...|Pts
-------------------------------------------------------------
France.................|10...|5....|5....|0....|10...|2....|20
Israel..................|10...|4....|6....|0...|15...|10...|18
Switzerland.........|9....|4....|5....|0....|18...|7....|17
Ireland Republic...|9....|4....|4....|1....|12....|5....|16
Cyprus.................|10...|1....|1....|8....|8.....|16...|4
Faroe Islands.......|10...|0...|1....|9....|4.....|27...|1

Suppose that Ireland and Switzerland draw:
Quote:

Team..................|MP...|W...|D...|L...|GF...|GA...|Pts
-------------------------------------------------------------
France.................|10...|5....|5....|0....|10...|2....|20
Switzerland.........|10...|4....|6....|0....|18...|7....|18
Israel..................|10...|4....|6....|0....|15...|10...|18
Ireland Republic..|10...|4....|5....|1....|12...|5....|17
Cyprus................|10...|1....|1....|8....|8.....|16...|4
Faroe Islands......|10...|0....|1....|9....|4.....|27...|1

This will mean that it is over for Ireland. Ireland must win to think about playoffs.
If Switzerland wins, France needs to score as much goals as they can. France needs to score at least 5 goals.
Switzerland - Ireland will be a interesting game.

Yeah we knocked the Dutch out that year!

We didnt deserve to go though this time though. We didnt beat any of the top teams in the group and played terrible in most games. Swiss game was a typical Irish performance under Kerr. Not willing to take any risks at all, even in the last 10 minutes. looks like Kerr will be gone in the next few days
Roy Keane probably played his last game too, Kenny Cunningham already retired after the game so weve lost a lot of experience

Yeah, Given was the only player to do well towards the end of the campain. Hes definately one of the top keepers in the world at the moment and hes from Donegal too!
Ive played against him quite a few times and played against him when he was drunk!

Can Ireland still qualify??
