ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Big Show-sized gauntlet has been thrown down, and six-time boxing champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather has accepted his challenge.

Big Show goaded Mayweather into accepting a future one-on-one match one night after their controversial melee at No Way Out. Mayweather peppered the monolithic former WWE and ECW Champion with punches after he made a surprise return and began roughing up his injured friend, Rey Mysterio.

At first, Big Show seemed cordial to the boxing champion, apologizing publicly to the Honda Center crowd and fans worldwide for his actions Sunday night. Sporting a black eye and bandaged nose from Mayweather’s punches the night before, the giant asked the boxer to come to the ring to accept his apology personally.

Mayweather returned the sentiments, but with a caveat.

“I’m sorry things had to happen that way, but I’m the best fighter in the world,” Mayweather said. “And when I get called out like that, I have to retaliate.”

“It’s OK. It’s in the past,” Big Show replied. “I want to tell you man to man, face to face, that I am sorry.” The giant then offered a handshake to Mayweather, which was hesitantly accepted.

As Mayweather and his entourage left the ringside area, politeness and courtesy took a field day as Big Show let his true feelings be known, stopping the boxer in his tracks.

“The only way you could hurt me was on my knees, and even on my knees, I’m still bigger than you,” he taunted. “You know if I wanted to, I can take you out in two minutes.”

Mayweather fumed with his back turned to the giant, but Big Show continued with his verbal barrage.

“You don’t believe me, you have doubts? Why don’t you take me on one-on-one,” Big Show challenged. “You’re 39-0, why don’t you try to make it 40-0? Think about it, what do you say?”

Mayweather stormed back into the ring, and screamed “I accept!” into Big Show’s face. As the two stared each other down, the boxer feigned a punch at the giant, which caused Show to flinch. The undefeated WBC welterweight champion laughed as he exited the ring, leaving the giant seething.

I hate it when the WWE does this, its just so fake.

It's like the time Carlito got hit with a steel chair by Shaquille O'Neal at the American Airlines Center.

I've not watched too much wrestling in the last 3 years, but this has shades of 1999's BRAWL4ALL wherein WWF superstars fought boxing matches against each other and whoever wins the whole thing would box Butter Bean in the PPV event. Bart Gunn ended up boxing him, and Bart went down after receiving one punch or something. Laughing I love Bart gun and he sold the punch well.

That reminds me off a Jackass scene where Jonny Knoxville boxed Butter Bean in a department store. Needless to say he got well and truly battered!

Funny thing is this whole angle was supposed to be to push dr Death Steve Williams.Basically he is a mate of Jim Ross's,who has a lot of sway in WWE,and Ross was convinced that Williams would win it and then they could promote him as a legitimate tough guy.

It's fake anyways, might as well take it over the top.

Ah, yes, it's coming back to me now! Didn't know you were big into wrestling... I used to be hooked and it bordered on obsession... Now I've not even given it a thought... Might have outgrown it... Plus WWE without The Rock and Stone Cold just won't cut it for me.

Well I cannot watch WWE anymore as I've not got the channel that shows it.Anyway, since Johnny Ace (brother of Animal from Legion of Doom) took over the booking (deciding who wins, why and how) it's gone way down hill.

I,believe it or not, trained as a pro wrestler when I was 16.Then the school moved away to the other side of London and I got other aspirations. So I am very much into pro wrestling.Nower days It's barely worth watching. All drama,no talent.

Floyd needs a chair to even reach the Big Show for goodness sake lol,how on earth are we to believe he even has a chance of even hurting him lol

Big Show could pick him up with one hand and put him in his pocket and save him for his dinner the next day lol

I will never respect the man as a Boxer again.

I take it this fight will not count towards his record.
