PSV Eindhoven remain nine points clear at the top of the Eredivisie after a 4-1 win against strugglers De Graafschap.

Danko Lazovic sandwiched two goals around strikes from Otman Bakkal and a Timmy Simons penalty after Lasse Schone had opened the scoring for the visitors early on.

Leon Hese was sent off near the end for the visitors, but by then the result was as good as sealed.

The deadlock was broken in unusual fashion during a high-tempo start.

There seemed no danger at all when, after seven minutes, Schone shot from 40 yards out.

But he forced Heurelho Gomes to tip the ball on to his near post and the goalkeeper then watched as it rolled across goal onto the opposite upright and over the line.

PSV were level almost straight from the restart when Lazovic rose highest in the De Graafschap area to head home an Ibrahim Afellay cross.

PSV found took the lead with seven minutes played in the second half.

Afellay supplied the cross, again from a corner, that passed everyone in the area until falling to Bakkal at back post.

From then on the outcome hardly seemed in doubt, and Sef Vergoossen's men put the shine on the result with two late goals.

Simons made it safe on 82 minutes from the penalty spot after Hese cut down Afellay in the box to see red.

Then in the last minute Lazovic finished off a smart PSV attack with a half-volley over the De Graafschap keeper.
