Only rumours I think are realisic so far are Arda Turan, the 21 year old Galatasaray midfielder valued at £12m. He'll be playing in the Euro's so we'll see how he does.

The other is Le Mans defender Stephane Sessegnon, valued at £5.5m. Although I would say this is a risk as he isnt established, unlike Cuellar, however he will stay at Rangers in my opinion.

I would fancy Santander striker David Guiza, he looks a good player from what I have seen, and possibly Samuel Kuffour who was available on a free last time I looked.

Keegan said that he is not interested in Turan. The rest im not sure about. Welcome to the site, are you a Newcastle fan?

Hiya yes I am.

Emre I think is going to Fenerbache, good player but never produce at United, too many injuries to.

Achilles Emana has been linked but Im never sure with African centre midfielders, everyone raved about Zokora and I havent been impressed by him, or Obi Mikel at Chelsea.

hey! good to have another toon fan! Very Happy . You should introduce yourself in the newcomers section!

I agree with everything you have said.
Part of me will be sad to see Emre go but he shouldn't be too hard to replace.

Youve probably already explained but whats with the name change Jac? Also which players would you like Keegan to bring in at Newcastle?

hey, I just didn't like Jackpot_Jac. When i first tried to sign up i tried to be called Geordie JJ but for some reason i didn't work. I then tried to make Jackpot_Jac and it worked. Ever since i made it i thought it was a mistake.

Keegan has now said he wants 5 players (still not enough). The positions he will be looking for will be:

CB - We need another solid CB, clear for anyone to see. Someone like Dunne, doesn't look like it will happen though. (atleast one needed)

CM - Looks like we are selling emre so it is even more important to get a creative player.

Wide player - I know we could be playing 4-3-3 next year but i would still like to see another wide player to add aother option. This will hopefully see the end of duff.

CF - Viduka is out for a few months and will miss the start of the season. Although he did good at times last season, i still think we could do better. Someone like Crouch would be great.

Backup for our full backs - We only have two full backs in our whole squad. I would like two players to come in but if we are only getting 5 players then i can only see one coming in.

Bye Emre! Crying or Very sad

Emre was far from being a toon legend in his time at the club but i will never forget the little turk! I loved when he played for Newcastle, wasn't always the best player but you could tell he cared about the club. He wasn't much taller then a dwarf but he has a massive heart! I know he has missed a load of games but when he played he did a pretty good job.
In his time at the club he scored 6 goals. 5 of these were winners. His first goal for the club was one of the best moments i have witnessed at St James Park. It was of course the winner against the mackems Very Happy .

Lets see that amazing goal again! Cool

Nice goal there against Sunderland.

Must admit I also like the Fenerbache shirt too, not that that's relevant to anything.

Like I said last night, don't forget the two goal hero before that goal Razz

Agreed with everything you've said above about him as well - plenty of time for players like him.

I'm sure this will upset the Galatasary fans as well seeing one of their former stars playing for Fener Smile

i remember him for his goal against reading:

yeh it will be a shame to see him go, he had his fair share of good gamesm but he never established himself as a first team regular. knowing ex-Newcastle players, he will be fenerbahce's best player next season.

Just read an article stating that Newcastle are setting up a double swoop for Peter Crouch and John Arne Riise of Liverpool. With Martins recovering from an ankle injury sustained on international duty joining Viduka on the sidelines, it only leaves Owen as the fit striker for pre-season. And even he is ill right now with a 'so called' infectious virus.

I was reading that before. I would love to see crouch come here, we nearly got him before he went to Liverpool. I suppose i would take Riise aswel but i would like us to give our current left back more time to settle. He had a bad start to the season but he put in the hard work after training and towards the end of the season he was one of our better players. We need numbers in but if Riise came he would wanna be our number one left back....

Newcastle United are said to be readying a bid for Real Zaragoza's Argentine playmaker, Pablo Aimar.

Quote:

A fee in the region of US$12 million is apparently what Zaragoza want for the 28-year-old midfielder but it remains to be seen if club owner, Mike Ashley, is willing to release the funds for Keegan to add some creativity to his team.

That would be a Newcastle United purchase all over, signing a former great like Aimar. But for what is around £6-£7m I think it would be well worth the plunge – getting anyone decent at their prime will be difficult and not cheap, as seen with Modric, so this risk may be worthwhile. He’s at the age where he could still be a very decent player for most clubs in this league. I’d love to see him as back-up at Liverpool even, but I’d love to see him play regularly in this league more importantly. Newcastle would be a good choice considering Keegan’s mindset.

I actually think that's a bit of a steal. Villarreal take players big clubs no longer want and make them great.

Newcastle have been linked with two more players this morning...

4million move for Eidur Gudjohnsen - I would really like this to be true but it comes from "the sun", which means there is no truth in this at all. Its a shame really.

Newcastle are leading the chase for Paris St Germain's £6m-rated midfielder Didier Digard (Daily Mail) - I don't know anything about this dude, anyone got any information on him?

all i know is, i buy him all the time on FM. He's very cheap, and becomes very good.

Sorry i know so little about him. versatile defensive midfielder though.
