Yeah i did mean Dean Ashton as i didnt realised he had signed a new contract as we are still being linked with him on rumour sites. Laughing I agree i dont think Dunne and Diarra would unless the money was huge.

Chimbonda wouldn't replace Beye anyway.

I don't think Newcastle's team would look anything like the one you posted.

Oh and why would they want Ashton? He's useless.

Well if he stayed fit hed be good.

I also said if he had the money i think the team will actually look pretty similar to as it is now just with 2 maybe 3 signings.

I think the main aim for Newcastle in the Summer will be to make sure there Defence is sorted and also to bring in a quality creative central midfielder.

If Keegan has the money i think they could line up like this:-

----------------Martins---Ashton-----------

--Nzogbia---Denilson*--Diarra---J.Milner

Enrique------Taylor----Dunne---Chimbonda

---------------------Given

* Although an unlikely signing i think Denilson is getting fed up of not playing much and i think it would benefit him alot if he played regularly in the premier league. So even if they got him on loan for a season i think it could be possible. As he will be behind Fabregas and whoever replaces Flamini, he will also have competition from new recruit Aaron Ramsey so i think Wenger may consider letting him go out on loan.

Reason i left out Michael Owen is i think he is probably on way way too much money for the contribution he gives to a game and it would save Newcastle alot of money to let him go because more likely than not he will get injured early on and be out for most of the season.

Dunne looks likely to stay at Manchester City but he hasnt signed a new contract and the possibility of the bic bucks at Newcastle may tempt him.

Also Lassana Diarra probably will be staying at Pompey although id lvoe him at Spurs he also may be tempted by higer paying clubs.

I think their Bench will look something like this:

Steve Harper
Michael Dawson
Habib Beye
Nicky Butt
Alan Smith
Damien Duff
Mark Viduka

That is a really weak team imo. I couldn't see that side finishing top half.

Diarra is fantastic, i'm not sure about Denilson.

If he did well they could easily finish in the top half, if Ashton was replaced, or stayed injury free.

Well i rate Denilson very highly i think he just needs to play regularly and he will be able to develop into the player i think he can become.

Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Everton, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Man City, Portsmouth are all significantly better for me.

Probably are was just thinking of players to bring in from Britain that i know if they wanted to compete higher up theyd have to bring in some foreign talent but im not big on foreign players so didnt bother naming any.

I could of added players like Milito, Colocinni or Jarque in but decided for British based players.

There have been reports today that Newcastle are to bid £10 million for the Russian Arshavin...
He would be a quality addition to the Toon's squad if Kevin Keegan can persuade him to sign.

THe problem with the players in the russian league tho isnt the transfer fees its the wages as they dont want to take a step down from the high wages they get over there.

Yeah i know, but Skrtel was bought from Zenit, so we can surely afford Arshavin's wages. Although he will probably be earnign a lot more than Skrtel did at Zenit, because he's an attacking player, and their main man.

As i said, this also could be the Summer where Arshavin feels he has to move, at his age it's really a now or never type situation for him to make an impact in a bigger League, after spending his entire career at Zenit.

At the moment we are going to be on a par with the likes of Middlesbrough, Bolton and West Ham next season. Spurs have got Modric and Dos Santos who are both very good players.

We are selling but not buying. Arshavin would be a good addition but I feel hes the sort of player who wont help when the going gets tough. Ashton wont be joining I am 99% sure of that.

Id still try and get Cuellar, he has been awesome when Ive seen him. Bafetimbi Gomis has been dreadful so far in the Euros and would be more inclined to target Guiza or Zigic.

If you are going to buy out of a tournament then so far I think Boruc has been good for Poland and Nigel De Jong in that midfield role for Holland.

Other than that the only other rumours I have heard are Arda Turan, Achilles Emana and Nicky Shorey, but I guess only Keegan knows who he wants.

Boruc has been absolutely class in both games. He made countless saves to deny Austria, and against Germany made probably the save of the tournament to deny Ballack.

Newcastle won't sign him though.

To be honest, i can't see much of an improvement at Newcastle. They are selling, but i can't see them buying anyone of real class. Or enough players of real class to make a difference. It's not looking good for them at the moment, and i wouldn't be surprised to see another poor/average season at Newcastle next season.

C'mon Keegan, pull ya finger out!
