Its not the end of the world no. but he is easily one of our best players, and if i were in charge i wouldn't sell him. last night's performance just showed how good he is. maybe is worthy of playing for a better team. it might be what he feels aswell. possible move to villa seems the most likely.
maybe with him on the verge of going, and robinho's transfer to Chelsea more likely, chances of us signing malouda seems more probable. |

No way would i take malouda. We are better off playing N'Zogbia there.
IMO these Newcastle players are better/more important... Owen - scores goals Given - One of the best keepers in the Prem Gutierrez - Looks like a cracking winger (and can play right wing) Taylor - Hes a geordie and the heart of our team Coloccini - Cost 10million Beye - Had such a great first season Agree? |

i agree, they are out key men right now.
but i'd rather see gutierrez on the left, or zog. and milner on the right. its possible that gutierrez could play the attacking mid role, with zog and milner on the wings aswell no? |

I agree with that although Beye did have a shakey start he's really impressed me, puts in 100 percent effort and is good going forward aswell. I'd prefer N'zogbia than Malouda, something about Malouda just isnt right he doesnt seem focused or willing to put in any real effort. |

Well Milner wants to go. It is not 100% that he will do but it looks that way. If we get the money and use it, im not bothered.
From the bits we have seen from Spiderman i think he is better on the wing. Do you feel N'Zogbia is better than Milner? Its hard to say. Its a while since N'Zogbia has had a good run in the first team (at left wing). Milner is very useful as he can play on both right and left. How crap was Geremi last night? |

Milner has today handed in a trasnfer request so maybe he wont be playing on the right for you guys next season. I think Newcastle should keep him he isnt the greatest winger in the premiership but he's a decent player but on the other hand he will go for alot more than he's really worth since he's young and English. |

has he really??...i know, i was just stating what i'd like to see with the team we have atm.
JJ, i can't really say between zog n milner. i'm a huge fan of both of them. both young, nippy and extremely talented. but maybe milner is a tad more consistent. neither have had a happy previous season though so in a way i dont blame milner for seeking a move to a better club. yea geremi was poor last night lol. one of those players who the curse of st james' has had an effect on. elsewhere he plays brilliant. step foot on SJP and they look useless. |

I don't care that he wants to leave, its the timing that im p!ssed off at. This leaves us 5 days to get someone else in. This is why i would not sell him unless two things happened. We found someone better (SWP) and he got a bid over 9million. The story is that leeds will get 25% of the fee. He still as 3 years left on his contract and why should we sell him, uness its in the best interests for the club.
I think Liverpool are back in for him. I don't think he would leave us to go to Villa. He has known about their interest for a while now. Maybe Liverpool made an offer and we rejected it. Just seems a bit strange to me. |

Aye he has indeed. Here's the link. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4056369,00.html Personnaly i think Milner if Keegan rejected his transfer request would be perfectly happy to stay and carry on putting in 100 percent. I think he must think he isnt number once choice for Keegan and apparently Villa are intrested, and Villa do have a reputation now under Martin O'neill of promoting you English talent and getting them playing well in a team, i.e Young, Agbonlahor, Reo Coker, Curtis Davies and Sidwell. They have also signed other English players like Luke Young and Nicky Shorey. I think Milner feels he has a good chance of getting into the Villa team and staying there. He'd fit in something like this. Milner Reo-Coker Barry Young -------Carew Agbonlahor------ Not a bad midfield if you ask me. I reckon Newcastle unless they sign any new players will line up like this for most of the season. --------------Given Beye Taylor Collocini Enrique Gutierrez Butt Guthrie N'Zogbia ----------Marins Owen Still feel you lack a player who can pick out a pass. Not a bad team though if they stick together and give everything could be a decent season for Newcastle. |

SWP and him are pretty much identical in terms of how they play, which does make more sense to try and buy him instead of Malouda. a robinho move to Chelsea could open up the door to that move. SWP hasn't had much action recently, maybe he'd welcome a move?
Well Shaun Wright Phillips' agent has just ruled out a move to Everton and Man City for the winger. So this could be good news as it could be his agent saying he wants to sign for you guys not the other teams involved, or it could be him saying he wants to stay at Chelsea and those are the only clubs to have declared an interest.

Milner put in his transfer request 7 days ago. I believe the reason it was made public is because we are close to getting a replacement. We better be....
The PFA (who represent him) have said he only handed in the request becuase he feels he should have an improved contract. This matter was going to be discussed at todays meeting. This means that the player is far from out the door. If Keegan gets his way he will get a new contract. If Milner is not in the top 6 earners i would be happy if he got a new deal. If players like Smith and Viduka are getting more than him (which they will be) then it should be looked at. Edit: SWP is set to join Man City. We should now keep Milner |

It gets worse. Milner has signed for Villa. I must say i am disappointed, but life goes on. We have various wingers we can field, so all is not lost. And with Keegan promising new faces, all should be good in the end. It just depends who he is eyeing up at the moment. All the rumours at the moment are defenders which isnt what i would like to see.

12million is a good price for someone who cant cross the ball. He was average but he stood out to some because of his hard work. At the time he handed in his transfer request i was a bit gutted but 12million helps get over it. He is only 22 and he will improve but at the moment it is a very good deal for us. If we wanted to we could have kept him. He wanted to stay. I know he handed in the request but that was only becasuse we would pay him more. I have just listened to Keegan's interview and i'm sure we will replace him with a better player. The only problem is that we could have used him on Saturday but its only Arsenal away
Tom. They are just rumours. There has been hunderds of players linked with us. Keegan has said two deals are close to being done and i believe one will be a defender which isn't the worst thing. We just have to wait to see what happens now. Bu the sounds of things the meeting went very well and he is happy about the milner deal. |

Yes i know they are just rumours. There's a versatile sounding defender who trained with the team today called Kamil Zayette. I don't know much about him, but on the website Keegan said he trained this morning and certainly looks like someone who could improve us. Could possibly be one of the two/three deals he's hoping to tie up. A defender who can play various positions is certainly someone that will come in handy in our squad.
I didn't know the fee for the Milner until now, but £12 mill sounds reasonable and the money will come in handy i'm sure. |

Some rumours hot off the press, or more appropriately fresh out of the mill. Deportivo La Coruna, who beat Real Madrid on Sunday, apparently reckon Newcastle have agreed a £5.7m deal for striker Xisco. Know anything about it?
Mallorca-born Xisco is the most successful player coming out of Deportivo B since the Galicians returned to the Primera División in 1991.
At the age of twenty-two he already has three seasons with the first team and twelve Liga goals behind his name, which makes of him one of the most promising Spanish strikers around. He exploded with five goals in two matches near the end of the season 2007/2008 and was a vital piece in the team which eventually got into the UEFA Cup. He was used by all Irureta, Caparrós and Lotina, has played for the Spanish U-21 team and now a bigger role in Primera should be his target. |

As good as done really. He can't be any worse than Shola and Smith. We are also close to completing a loan deal for Ignacio Gonzalez from Valencia.
