Right, it's about time this forum had a place where the lower scenes of our game can be discussed - the Reserves and the Academy. It's a hugely important aspect of football and something i'm getting more and more interested in, and i know other people watch and follow the games, so i'm sure we could generate some interest.
There's
plenty to discuss as well...
- Premier League Reserves League North
- Premier League Reserves League South
- Football League Reserves
- Premier Academy League (four parallel divisions)
- FA Youth Cup
And amongst other things, all the talent swimming around in our clubs. I also think we could learn a lot, say from other people who watch their teams' reserves regularly. I think it deserves
at least one section in the UK & Irish board, if not an entire board by itself! Depending on the numbers that actually were willing to discuss that is... You could also have sections then for worldwide reserve/academy teams, to discuss the hottest prospects in Spain, France, Italy, Brazil, Australia etc.
Anyway, i'm just brainstorming some ideas here (feel free to criticise), but i think
something for the reserves and academy would be really warranted.
