Laughing Yeh, i'm just a bit apprehensive about whether we'll have enough money to get the players we need in the positions we need.

The owners situation does make things around Liverpool's summer a little more uncertain. Here's hoping Rafa has my way of thinking... Wink

Anyway, more rumours:

We're linked with relegated Real Zaragoza's striker Sergio Garcia for £12m.

Catania’s left-back Juan Vargas’ agent has listed us as one of many clubs interested in him, the price £11m.

And Albert Riera has demanded a transfer away from Espanyol. Whether it’s to us is another matter. He would be open to it by the way he speaks, so it just remains as to whether he is wanted. (For the right price i'd take him to pressure Babel on the left.)

I wonder what the chances would be of us selling Carson to Middlesbrough now they've let Schwarzer join Fulham? I'm not convinced O'Neill will cooperate.

You can't sell him to them losers. Villa would be a much better club for him. Plus southgate has said hes not spending much money this summer.

Well they're going to need a 'keeper... I think he'll eventually go for something like £6m.

He has said he'd rather move to the Championship than stay second choice at Liverpool or go back on loan.

Carson is valued at £10million by Benitez. Crouch at £15million and Alonso at £16million...

Also you guys are being linked with £8million-rated Udinese full-back Andrea Dossena...

Quote:

Benitez has defended his stance on the Carson fee, which would surely be less if Villa agreed to sell Barry.

Benitez says: "It is a matter between the clubs. We agreed the fee with Aston Villa last year.

"The fee has been there for one season so to talk about the fee now is not correct. We agreed with Martin O'Neill and that was the situation."

Carson is worth about 5m, Crouch 8/9m and Alonso 11m.

Keep dreaming Rafa.

I'm sure he knows this too though.

its called leverage mate! and if Carrick Hargreeves and Barry are worth anywhere near between £15m - £18m then I think your vastly underpricing Alonso at £11m!

This is a player who came to us at the age of 22 for £10.6m, He has won a European and FA Cup and been a consistant performer in the Premiership and Champions League, He's an established International, only signed a new deal last year and you only think his value has increased by £0.4m?!?!?!? He's still only about 26 too.

Not to mention the lad is renouned as one of the best passers of a ball in world football!

Was Gordon worth £10m? Bent worth £16.5m? Carrick worth £18m?

No. There are silly clubs out there that will meet silly prices.

Rafa's just trying to get the maximum he can for our players - which is good to see, because if it were left to Parry we'd continue to be fleeced in the transfer market, as has been the trend in the past.

Oh I understand what he was trying to do.

Also Gordon maybe was worth 10m.

From a scottish point of view, Gordon is a top keeper and i would say is worth 9m just think he would be better at a bigger club than sunderland. I also rate Crson highly so i would say there on same pr.

Carson's a tricky one. If you watch him this season he's error-prone and half the player he was; last season with Charlton he was excellent and nearly kept them up.

Playing for England is a curse for any 'keeper. I wonder if he can ever recover.

He's a bit error prone and isn't he injury prone too?

Gordon is neither. In natural ability they are similar but being error prone is the cardinal sin for a Goalie.

Most young keepers can be prone to the odd error of judgement but tend to get better with age and experience. I think Carson has a big future but desperately need to sign and settle at one club with aspirations to match his potential.

Villa would have been ideal but I doubt if O'Neil will pay the £10m agreed last summer, he obviously only agreed the fee to gain Carson on loan for a season and is now looking at other options, fair doo's thats his perogative.

There wont be a shortage of interest in him. Boro will probably look at him, Spurs might have a go and there are probably other premiership teams who will fancy him in goal.

I reckon in the end he'll go for somethin in between £6m and £8m. where to who knows!??!

Dossena To Sign For Liverpool – Marino
Udinese coach Pasquale Marino has admitted that Andrea Dossena is on the verge of completing his move to Liverpool.

Dossena has had an excellent season for the Zebrette, playing 34 games, scoring two goals, and helping the club qualify for the UEFA Cup.

The left back has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool for a while now, and earlier this week it was reported in the Italian press that a transfer was on the horizon.

Bianconeri boss Marino has now confirmed that these stories are true.

“I think that a deal with Liverpool for Dossena is on the way,” told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“Everything is going smoothly. The requirements are in place and the player has given his consent because he wants to test himself at an important club after the season he has had.

“Our director general was in England partly because of that just two days ago.”

Dossena, who has won one cap for Italy, was also said to be attracting the interest of Juventus, however the Old Lady were apparently unwilling to match Udinese's asking price.

Still a no-go for the Alonso transfer so far...

"This is nothing new, there is always speculation about me," he told El Mundo Deportivo.

“I know perfectly well what my situation is. This has nothing to do with me.

"If the club wanted to sell me, I would know about it. If the club want to cash in on me and buy other players, I would accept it and look for another club, but they haven’t said anything to me. For that reason I think my future is still with Liverpool.”

How many years does he have on his contract still?
