That's true. Actually Cesc and Flamini are interchanging frequently and most of the times, i see Cesc playing deep while Flamini is a bit more forward. I dunno whether this is a delibrate tactic, but its working well so far.

Milan are very poor indeed, Arsenal are doing well and comfortable in possession, they just need to score that elusive goal, as i feel with Kaka and Pato on the break Milan could still be dangerous and nick it. Adebayor is working tirelessly and Fabregas is controlling the middle, Hleb with some decent trickery also.

Eboue is not in the same class as most of these players though, that is painfully obvious,.

No Becks its grea. We can watch Arsenal fans get there hopes up because they think they can go all the way and then loose later on in the competition where it will hurt them more. Wink

But seriously Arsenal were awesome today hate to say it but they well and truly dominated this game and deserved there 2-0 win or even to win by more.

well played the Arsenal! That is the best Arsenal performance for such a long time! That was a masterful display from the midfield! hleb, Fabregas and flamini were outstanding! Adebayor seems to thrive being the lone striker and help the ball up so well. Cant believe fabregas's striker went in as seemed to move quite slow but guess as was struck early keeper didnt see it coming.

AC MIlan, well, it looks like age might finally be catching up on many of Europe's elite. Just couldnt cope with Arsenals fast one touch passing and trickery, especially in the first half.

A much deserved win! well done.

As I said after the first leg, we had the advantage.

Which advantage? The extra class. Smile

We outclassed them at the Emirates and were quite unlucky to not win by a few. And at the San Siro we outclassed them again. I look back on the other cup exits and our recent form in good spirit. We have had an amazing season and this young team just continues to produce amazing feats.

Cesc truly outclassed Kaká in all departments. His passing was on a different level and his play in the final third also. It's just a great joy to see, considering the last time we had a great run in this competition Cesc was the heartbeat and outclassed similarly high-class opponents.

I'm very much proud and truly over the moon with the performance, the spirit and the history-making win over the ex-Champions.

And Eboué is [beep!]. How he gets games I'll never understand.

Walcott isn't great either but you can see the impact he makes when he plays in place of Eboué. Just has the attacking mind whereas Eboué doesn't have it.

I'm happy!

But I don't agree about the comments on Eboue, I think he links up very well with Sagna and has adapted to a more attacking position well, he crosses the ball excellently, always good in a winger but his shooting could use some work.

But yeah roll on the 1/4 finals, great result and a great performance tonight.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!

AC Milan played well for the first 15 minutes and looked a bit threatening on the counter.

Arsenal fully deserved this victory. The ref was a bit whistle happy, and I'm still trying to find out why he gave Hleb a yellow for diving. He was clearly fouled. If it was Eboue, I would have understood, but Hleb doesn't dive.

Cesc and Flamini were magnificent in the middle. Even Cesc, tracking back and getting on the ground to stop Kaka's progress was wonderful to see. Cesc goal was amazing. Diaby played well, he looks a bit show, but overall played well. Hleb did a wonderful job spreading the ball out right and left on every attack. I don't see why Wenger continues to start Eboue. Walcott is on a high, and his confidence and quality is sky rocketing at the moment. That final run he made to create the final goal was blistering.
Walcott > Eboue

The whole back line (yes including Senderos) played a wonderful game.

Adebayor; he's a work horse. He worked hard all game long, and glad Walcott found him at the end to get the ball into the back of the net.

Eboué didn't make one decent cross in the entire game. He did power one through the middle of the Keeper & outfielders, but it was useless and lacked any sort of direction.

He didn't take anybody on, not once. When he got the ball in the final third, he either gave it away or passed astray. He's poor in that position and he has been all season. He linked up with Hleb better in his first season when he played at Right Back, but he's not an attacker and will never have the attacking instincts that makes a player progress at that level.

He does have pace, but when he can't use it, he's rendered useless and he was tonight. He also cheats a lot, whines a lot and has a stinking attitude.

Flamini was MOTM for me tonight though. Absolutely immense. The Frenchman was everywhere and Kaká couldn't get past him once. Even the physical battles with Gattuso, Flamini came out the winner. Amazing from the guy. Most improved footballer in Europe. If he signs his contract with Arsenal soon, I will get his name on my shirt. Such passion and determination combined with new found technique and much class.

Fantastic perfomance from Arsenal and a superb open game all along. So proud of the guys there. Many of the people were sayin, Arsenal woudn't go through as they can't beat Milan at the San Siro(Even I at some times) but they kept their cool and gave an amazing perfomance. Really everyone played well.

Almunia - He had a good game, not many challenging balls for him to make a brilliant save, but he did do a good job.

Sagna, Gallas, Senderos and Clichy - They all had a great game and kept a clean sheet which is no mean feat against the likes of Kaka, Pato, Pirlo, etc. Full credit to them and especially to senderos who many predicted would falter.

Flamini, Cesc - Amazing perfomance. They interchange excellently and both play well while attacking as well as defending. Cesc's passing is incredible and he just took the game to another level in the second half and controlled the game from the midfield. He'll go on to do great things in the near future. That goal from Cesc was excellently taken. I think since he took the shot early, the keeper didn't expect it and the men defending him at that time gave him enough time to take a shot at the goal. But neverthless a great goal.

Eboue, Diaby, Walcott - No comments about Eboue. Diaby played well, but IMO he keeps the ball a little longer than necessary instead of passing it. Sometimes he could've played a good pass that was available to him, but he keeps the ball longer and gets into the defenders. Just my opinion though, but he played well. Walcott showed amazing pace that clearly unsettled the Milan defence and also he won a ball from Kaka i think with just sheer pace. He did well to provide the assist to Adebayor who had a relatively easier job in putting the ball into the net. So well played Walcott and he's getting into a good rhythm in recent games.

Hleb - Excellent perfomance as usual. He keeps the ball well and reads the game well too. Some of his passings were so good to watch. He does that floating aggressive midfielder role superbly. Great to watch him play.

Adebayor - Well he did a lot of hard work and he deserved that goal. He played exceedingly well in the second half and praises to him.

Overall Arsenal played exceedingly well and really outclassed the giants(Milan). They did what many of the people didn't expect them to do and they'll continue to play well. I think they'll win some silverware this season and they'll be winners deservedly.

Agree on every word about Flamini and he's the MOTM for me too. Man he was everywhere and the midfield players of Milan were completely outclassed by our midfield players. They simply had only limited impact on the game and Arsenal dominated possession(60-40 for Arsenal i think) like they do all the time. No chance was given to the Milan players after the initial 15 mins.

Having said that, Kaka made two very good runs into the box but both his shots were wide of the goals and Pato knocked at the goals some 2 or 3 times but his shots were easy for Almunia and lacked pace.

It was never in doubt for me.

People criticised Wenger for dropping players in the group stage and then in domestic competitions in preference for more important games, and it's paid off.

Sevilla who topped our group are struggling and have conceded 5 goals from the Turks and are now set to take penalties which is not in their hands whilst we are top of our League and just knocked out Milan. Wenger got it all right for me and my backing of his decisions show that it's not just bias.

An absolutely dominating display there - well done Arsenal.

Before the game began I really fancied Arsenal's chances and the game played out pretty much as I expected it to; Arsenal playing with bundles of pace, precision and movement and Milan looking weary, lethargic and indecisive. The collective age of the Milan team was horribly apparent and the youthfulness of the Arsenal side overwhelmed them entirely.
There were lots of solid performers for Arsenal; their midfield was excellent and Adebayor worked hard. The back four didn't have an awful lot to do but Sagna was impressive nevertheless. Walcott made an impact when he was introduced and he showed good pace in the build-up to the second goal, but let's not forget that he was fresh from the bench and that must've helped.
The ref seemed to put in an average performance and with regard to the Hleb incident: Hleb was most certainly caught but the manner in which he went down was a bit dramatic. I suppose you could say that he 'tricked' the ref into believing that he wasn't fouled. Smile
The future of the Milan team is Kaka and Pato, along with a few others, and a huge overhaul needs to occur over the next season or two. Their supporters certainly won't be used to seeing their season effectively end in early march.

Of course, I won't be pleased if Arsenal go on to win the competition, but credit where it's due, they outclassed Milan this evening.

milan were way off the boil.

i dont think that dropping a couple of players over a week ago made such a significant impact, you would have won regardless i feel. there was very little hunger, imagination or desire from Milan

A great performance by Arsenal, all credit to them.

Milan now enters a difficult period. Their reluctance to freshen up their squad and hang onto players till they are 70 will hurt them for a few years to come.
