Hello Guys,
just saying hello. This is my first post although i have been looking through a few posts on here.my name is neil although im normally refered to as billy amongst other not so friendly names.
my footballing background is basically started at school went on to play for local sunday kids team.progressed to a decent level wich gave me the option of signing schoolboy forms at the age of 13 for either rotherham united or barnsley fc.Decided to go for Rotherham as this is my home town, much to the dissapointment of my sports teacher who was coach at barnsley.Imanaged to play quite regular for the reserves over a two year period however mr e.hughes decided i was not up to standard and released me after my apprentiship had finished.I was bitterly dissapointed but after much sole searching realised that i wasnt really good enough. After that i gave up to be honest and went into local pub football and played for parkgate fc in the northen counties league.
gave up playing a few years ago and started coaching with a local kids football club,Millmoor juniors fc. Idid my level 1 or junior managers course as it was called then and got stuck into coaching the kids.had some great times and as a team we were quite succesfull wining league and cup in our first two seasons.Idid my level 2 and after initially failing re sat a month later and passed.
Unfortunatley i gave in coaching due to work and family commitments. My son is in his 2nd season playing junior football and i hope i can get involved coaching his team but manager at mo is reluctant to use me. anyway hope ive not boared you all to death hope to have an imput in forum and offer any help i can give.
thanks billy. Very Happy

hi cfc bhoy,
billy is in fact my nickname.i aquired this at comp school during my first pe lesson.someone passed ball to my coach and i went charging in and put said coach on backside on wet muddy pitch!he picked himself up shook himself and said"that was like being hit by billy bremner!" to which i was more than delighted with because being a leeds united fan was more than a compliment.the name stuck.most of my mates still refer to me as bill or billy.scoobilly is a combination of my nickname and my love for wrc in particular subaru otherwise known as scoobs.my real name is neil.some good games between celtic and leeds dude. Welcome Neil aka Billy.
Is the level 2 coaching badge a lot harder than the level 1?
I'm thinking of doing my level 2 some time this year.
Stick around and enjoy Smile

hi yid,
level 2 is a lot harder than level 1 and there is some debate on here as to wether level 1 asks enough questions off the people taking the course. Most seem to think level 1 doesnt prepare people for the hard work and commitment to the level 2 course that is required. The course has plenty of depth to it.You also need to be quite fit to take this course.Be prepared for some hard work when you take level 2 it certainly surprised a few, including myself, when i took mine.We had four drop out on our course and two that never turned up on assesment day.Go for it mate it is well worth it and there are plenty of guys on here who can offer advice should you require it.cheers billy
