What are you talking about? You said that United's luck finally ran out, obviously insinuating that we've been lucky on this cup run.... You certainly weren't talking about the match individually because as you say we had no luck at all, so there was none to "run out".

So it looks like you're tripping over yourself a bit there.... Unless you just have no grasp of the meaning of your statement and the context in which it should be used.... Maybe it's just a bit of both.

You're reading too deep into the original statement and trying to wind me up to start a petty argument. Man United have been lucky on many occasions in all competitions (as well as any other club that does well; there is always luck on their side). And today, Man United's luck ran dry. That is all.

So why did you try and backtrack instead of stating that in your last post? Laughing Rolling Eyes

You were the one who came in here looking to wind people up and if you had have stood by your original statement instead of skulking away then maybe you would have looked a little less foolish now.

We love you Pompey, we do!

It's such a sweetener really.

Michael Carrick you fool! Tevez couldn't score past a measly Glen Johnson on the line? You should be moaning about that Mister Ferguson.

I don't see any backtracking in any of my statements. You replied to my first statement with a question; therefore, I answered with my reasoning to the unluckiness of this particular game. You chose to read deeper into the words to look for a wound that you could try to carve open, but couldn't find one. So you resort to interpreting it the way you want. So my final reply was a simplified version that doesn't allow one to interpret it in a different way. Wink

we understand now.. we're never really capable of winning any matches.. every single victory is always pure luck.. including the way how we ended up having a draw against pompey.. Gunners just let us win easily because they didn't mean to win.. and now the luck has just gone and so we are kicked out of the fa cup championship by pompey..

The penalty was a shoulder again shoulder charge, it's ok in the rules.
For the red card and penalty it's true there waere 2 defenders behind the goalkeeper but he still denied the striker a goalscoring opportunity by taking him down straight red by the rules.

The Mancs should have won it comfortably from what I've seen from the highlights. Sloppy defending led to the red card and penalty, and it was no fault but your own in that sense.

Also, Carrick should have scored when he beat the Keeper and missed from the 6yard box, whilst Tevez should have comfortably placed his shot past Glen Johnson as David James was AWOL.

You can blame the Ref all you like, but from what I've seen those chances were exceptionally easy and you failed to take them. Do so and you're through, dodgy refereeing or not. Of course it hurts when some poor refereeing doesn't help your cause, but we're all victims of that. You can only blame yourselves for missing those stupidly good chances though. David James was on his derrière quite a few times whilst your attackers had possession and they fluffed it again & again.

so many missed chances by ManU in this game! it just wasn't our day, it seems.

it was Anderson's fault for the penalty. he lost the ball and then started chasing after it leaving his space wide open.

As the commentators said, if that was outside the area that was a foul, and probably a yellow card for distin, the decision later involving johnson and evra, if that was outside outside the box that would alo have been a foul and a yellow, the rules clearly state that if its a foul outside the box then its afoul inside the box, i think the F.A need to start picking up on this cos referees do it all the time.

excelent result for Pompey, as a West Ham fan i've obviously got a lot of time for dear old Harry, and so much hope that he can now go on and win the cup.

Nice to see someone actually knows the rules, Well done shlj.....

The last man rule died with the dinosaurs, the term you are looking for "liker" is denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity and i'm sure if you go to any football association's website then you are more that likely to find a copy of the rules.

Maybe you should have a little read at them!

yeah it would be nice for Redknapp to get a bit of silverware, he is such a likeable bloke unlike a lot of other managers...
once again ferguson moans like a spoilt little bitch who has had her pony taken away. get a f*cking grip ferguson. moaning about decisions wont get you anywhere, maybe look at your own decisions. Rooney and Anderson as the last two players? what a stupid idea. even after the penalty Rooney was found in his own half. wheres the logic? perhaps that Shin Basher did more damage than we originally thought.

lose with grace Jocky. your mob were far too wasteful and that is the sole reason you lost.

Maybe you should learn what the definition of a shoulder barge is.... It's barging the opponent off the ball in order to and with the intention of taking possession of the ball, not a full body tackle to take the player out of a run....

Maybe you should have a little go over the rules.

It was never, ever a fair shoulder barge. Blatant penalty for Man Utd in my opinion.

But that was the only big decision that didn't go their way, and we've seen much worse in the past.

The penalty and red card were both correct decisions by the letter of the law, so few complaints can be made about that (although people are still complaining).

As for pap5murf's comments, why are you making a big deal out of it Forev? He said Man Utd's luck finally ran out, so what? The consensus for a long time has been that Man Utd get lucky, and are treated better than other teams, whether that be because they are the most supported team in the league, have the biggest stadium, or because Fergie in the past has dished out the hair dryer treatment to referees, i don't know. But the disparity between Man Utd and other teams has been all too clear on many occasions in regards to refereeing. Middlesbrough know that all too well.

The comment sounded pretty generic to me, but clearly you interpreted differently. Maybe you said it was referring to Man Utd's previous FA cup rounds because it would discredit it, or because you were looking for an argument, i don't know. But to me it never seemed to be specifically aimed at their previous FA cup games.

Laughing Carrick's feeble attempt at getting the ball over the line was hilarious. As was all the other United attempts... they just couldn't force it in.

Whether Pompey deserved to go through or not (okay they didn't) i don't care, 'cause the competition is far better for United's omission. Considering Chelsea went out as well of course.

So much for the treble, eh folks.

I need to see the Carrick miss again, but from one of the angles (i only saw it quickly, so i need to see it again) it looked like the worst miss i've seen in my entire life.

The balls was about half a yard from the line, all he needed to do was knock it in, but somehow put his leg over the ball.

Congratulations Pompey, a classic smash and grab - but I guess this also dispells the theory that away teams at Old Trafford never get the decisions.

But you can't take anything away from Portsmouth - great play and I am pleased for David James, he is no spring chicken but has shown in recent performances he can still cut the mustard.

United had chances to win the game, so can't really solely blame the penalty decision as a deciding factor.
It was one of those days that everything went right for Pompey - I would like to see them go on and win it.
