AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) -- Three Dutch league soccer games were canceled Saturday because the threat of police strikes posed a security risk for fans.

Matches between second-place Ajax at first-place PSV Eindhoven, AZ Alkmaar vs. Feyenoord and VVV Venlo vs. FC Twente were called off because police unions demanding higher pay said they would strike.

Ajax failed in its attempt to get a court order Saturday to stop the strike.

This is the second time this season police officers have forced the postponement of key soccer games.

This is the 2nd time the strike has happened this season. It is a reverse of the same fixtures too.

I was unfortunate enough to have already travelled to Amsterdam in December, and was already out there when the game was called off last time. But it was still good to meet up with Yessica.

I think Yessica had a ticket to go to the PSV away match today, so I bet she is upset at the game being called off. Does anyone know when the new date for the game is?

The new date for PSV-Ajax is not known yet. The game between VVV Venlo-FC Twente will be played tuesday 11 March and the game between AZ-Feyenoord will be played on wednesday 12 March. I think it will be difficult to find a date for PSV-Ajax because PSV is still in Europe. I think there is only date available for that game: wednesday 19 March.

Hey Yessica, yeah Amsterdam was really cool, and I went back to see the rematch in January when Ajax lost 2-0 to PSV, but it was better on the Sunday when Ajax won 3-0 against Feyenoord. Smile

I blame Tony, as every time he watches Ajax they lose, and every time I go to Ajax when he is not there Ajax win. Very Happy
