The Arsenal ladies are now guaranteed a quarter final spot after a hard fought win against the Russian side. They had to do without Kelly Smith who saw red after half an hour for two bookable offences , and then Arsenal captain Faye White who suffered a suspected broken nose after a clash of heads in the 47th minute. In the end though it was Jayne Ludlow who settled the tie as she scored with 13 mins left .

Next up is Bronby on saturday , lets hope they can make it 3 out of 3 . Smile

They lost 1-0 to Brondby Sad . They did have a severely weakened team though. That means they'll face a team who won their group in the quarters, which are on October 8th/19th, so it could be a tough match, but they can definitely do it.
Go Arsenal!

Was that a weakened team by choice or through injury . If by choice maybe not the best decision if you end up facing a group winner. They are however still capable of winning whoever they get.

Through injury, and suspension. Faye White, Lianne Sanderson, Julie Fleeting, and another England player, not sure which, were all out through injury, and of course Kelly was suspended! Hopefully they'll all be back for the quarters though as I don't think any of them are long-term injuries...
