Must admit pardew did well with the sub,s at the right time. just when needed. I am over the moon with this result.

I was bit annoyed about the delay in getting Shola off, however that was mainly because the Ref would not stop the game until the ball went out of play. Even when it did for a throw I thought he was still not going to allow the substitution. Screaming like mad for Shola to go down so it could be brought to the Refs attention as the Linesman on the far side from me was bloody useless....................

That said they did not waste a lot of time in getting Power Ranger on in his place and taking off Nolan late on for Smith to close the game out was a sound move. Pardew may well not be evryone's choice, but he can again only do his best and possibly being disliked could work in his favour should results like last night keep coming. He will not be the first or last manager to benefit from inheriting another managers team.

Some of the passing and play in general was the best for quite a few games so I was very surprised the way the players responded and if they were doing it for Chris Hughton and not just themselves he can be a proud man this morning. Reckon we will have better idea of what the situation really is like for the Manager and players next week against Brum.

If Pardew can retain the 'Feels like Toon Spirit' among the squad we may just be in with a shout of getting a decent result next week.
