Carroll to go? |
|
It is reported in the London Evening Standard that a deal could be reached to take Carroll to Tottingham we would end up with Bentley and Keane + 8mil I would think this would please Ashley no end after all he has only the interests of NUFC at heart!?

But the lad has just signed a new contract. If he is true to his word he dos not have to go anywhere. Then again

Would be gobbed smacked if there is any milage in this story.....................sounds like slow news day for the Standard.
As for taking Keane and Bentley, well if I had a choice it would probably be the younger lad (or possibly throw in O'Hara) as Keane for me has just lost the edge he had a few years ago that made him such a good player. I don't believe the move to Liverpool did him any favours and since then he has not done anything of note. Bentley would be a good addition and actually give us a player who can cross a ball from out wide which is something both Routledge and Jonas seem incapable of on many occasions. Pardew talking up Best is nothing new among managers looking to shift a player. Not much point in saying he is complete sh1te, even if it's true, and there for anyone and everyone to see for themselves. If big Andy is to leave the Toon during this window it will take about £20M to shift him which in highly inflated football terms is probably just about right given he is only 21 or is it 22 this week? |

Agree about Bentley not sure about Keane, if he could show he still had what it takes it may be worth a loan move. There must be loads of players who have taken a chance with the Arsenal/Chelsea/Manchester teams only to find that they either warm the bench or find themselves stuck in their respective second teams. Carrol To Go? |

I think it would take a lot of levering to make AC go just now. He's signed the contract and is NUFC through and through.Keane may be worth a punt on a loan deal but I don't see him as the nippy forward player to profit from AC's knockdowns . Dare I say it Bellamy would have been ideal! (other things being equal of course) It seems to me that we would only be taking two players that Spurs want rid of ,rather than sourcing players who fit what we need.I don't see Bentley as being a clear cut good prospect either, Redknap has criticised his attitude , and he has clearly lost his way recently. We want signings of the quality of Tiote and Ben Arfa not the names which have been bandied about recently. We all realise that most of the stuff we read is a combination of lazy journalism and agents/managers trying to create a market for their players, we can only wait and see.

THanks Captain , I think they blocked me because I posted too quickly after registering , still all sorted now. I'm not GFK .The Killer is still on the loose somewhere, but will no doubt make his way here , all the usual suspects seem to be . So far not much feuding , maybe we need Nick or Foggy and Observer , or Tino and NUFC1983 to restore normal working disorder.

Agree with CM very good post and pleased to see another ex Chronic Forum member still around. Given a real choice yes you are correct that we should looking to source players of the quality and calibre of Hatem and Tiote rather than Spurs rejects. Unfortunately The Fat Man possibly looks at things in a very different way when it comes to making a quick killing on the value of Big Andy. In some ways I can even understand that from his point of view, however to not give anything back to strengthen the side just defeats the objective for me.
Not sure if any of the angry mob would last long here as the Mods don't take kindly to infighting of teh kind we experienced on the other forum. As for Troll de Roll Nick well can't say I miss him that much...........
Now for bite to eat and off to the game. |

Welcome to our new "home" GFH
Well done Polly for rallying the troops.......... I think Andy will fight to stay, but the FCB HAS PISSED US OF PLENTY OF TIMES BEFORE, HASN'T HE Bentley may be what we need but personally would like to see some more work done by our scouting staff rather than players their current clubs no longer require!! I agree keane's seen his best days and did nowt much at Liverpool. Pardew getting Ben Arfa signed up on a permanent deal is a very welcome edition in my opinion.......we certainly haven't seen the best of him yet!!!! |
