A pretty makeshift side for Bolton, as they're resting players for the Premier League.

I can't see them winning this to be honest, nor getting a high enough score draw - they just don't have the goals in them in my opinion. It's probably going to be a hat-trick of English sides eliminated in 90 minutes time.

Goalless at half time in Lisbon, and a quite an open game in places with both sides claiming that they should be in front. Although you do feel Bolton do need to be a little more adventurous if they are to progress past this round, with that experimental team. It is a very attacking side, there is no doubt about that with Stelios, Adranik, Vaz Te and Helguson all very much forward minded players.

Five minutes to go and Sporting score, 1-0 and could be good night for Wanderers. Good step inside and strike from Bruno Pereirinha.

Good to see Bolton out. Not much to like about them. Whereas Sporting, unlike Bolton, actually play football.

Well they usually play something resembling kick boxing.

I take your point though, Sticks. Sporting do try to place nice passing football, although they've got that very Portuguese trait of going down like they've been shot on the slightest bit of contact.

Personally, I'd like to see them win it, mainly because I went to see them play at their ground a few of months back when I went to Lisbon on holiday.

SSSSPPPPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRTING....so their song goes. Nice eh?

Very creative.

Some of my friends are in Lisbon now, and they might be going to see Sporting. But they might end up seeing Benfica because of their stadium.

I want either them or Fiorentina to win. I would be happy if Bayern won though.

Bolton had a decent chance to reach the last 8 and by deliberatly fielding a weakened side Megson, not only showed contempt for the Uefa cup but also for the Bolton, fans who probably spent a couple of hundred pounds to go there and watch the game. If Megson didn't give a toss he should personaly pay backthe money out of his own pocket to every Bolton fan who was there.

Would you rather win the UEFA cup and get relegated, or win nothing but stay in the premier league to achieve mediocrity and have an empty trophy cabinet?

But Bolton didn't have a hope in hell of winning the UEFA with PSV, Fiorentina and Bayern Munich in it, so it doesn't really matter.

The Bolton fans will understand that whilst languishing in 18th place in the league their priority is the domestic games. Europe's a mere bonus.

Agreed. Premier League survival and stability is far more important.

Is there a team you wouldn't like to see win it? It seems like you have such a variety! Laughing
