Sporting test for rangers |

Rangers have been paired with Sporting Lisbon following the draw for the quarter-finals for the UEFA Cup. Rangers, who earned their place in the last eight following a 2-1 aggregate victory over Werder Bremen, will take on the conquerors of Bolton Wanderers with the first leg at Ibrox on April 3. Should Walter Smith's side progress then they would face either PSV Eindhoven or Fiorentina for a place in the final at the City of Manchester Stadium on May 14. Speaking before the draw, Smith claimed he was unconcerned who the Gers were paired against. He said: "We're happy enough to take what comes and are just delighted we've managed to get there. "It's a little bit unexpected for us to have got this far. When we started out we were a new team but managed to get into the Champions League and had a good start. "For a team which had no real pedigree in European competition it's been a great achievement. We're just delighted to be in the last eight." The full UEFA Cup quarter-final draw is: Bayer Leverkusen v Zenit St Petersburg Rangers v Sporting Lisbon Bayern Munich v Getafe Fiorentina v PSV Eindhoven. |
