Aaron Lennon could be about to leave Spurs this summer.

From what I have heard - Ramos is prepared to let Lennon leave.

Dont blame Ramos for wanting to let him go, Lennon was a revelation when he came on the scene and was tipped for big things. But in the last two years since I dont think hes progressed much at all, this season he has improved his final ball and finishing but not enough to warrant a starting place in what I hope will be a totally revamped midfield next season.

FRom what ive heard Lennon is of the opinion that he has made it alreasy, he doesnt need to train hard and try to improve more etc, this is why he will never be a top top player.

If i had the choice id keep him as a impact player off the bench, late on in tight games he could be very useful but with the quality of midfield I hope Ramos has in mind for next season thats the only role I see for Lennon

i think we could easily get 10million for him from a team like Villa or Pompey, id be happy with that.

Well he can still get past people just his crossing skills arent good enough. I wouldnt be suprised if Ramos let him go.

A few rumours today that Ramos wants to replace Lennon with Jesus Navas. Doubt wed be able to get him but would be nice.

No end product is his downfall. I thought he could improve on it but he hasn't been able to. He is too predictable when running at players and he doesn't have any trickery.
I still wouldn't like to see him leave though.

I have a feeling there is going to be some deals done with LFC in the summer.

I know that Damien Comolli has been in contact with officials from Liverpool recently.

Comolli met with wigs from Liverpool back in November regarding Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.

The move was blocked but Spurs were told to come back in the summer.

His recent contact with Liverpool & motives are still unclear, but I wouldnt bet against some deals going through between the two clubs in the coming weeks.

As for Lennon - I like him as a player - I know we were gutted at losing him for 1 mill & I loved watching him play for Leeds, but I think he has lost his confidence & maybe as Jono says a different challenge is what he needs.

£15 million would be good good buisness.

Also Yobbo - what you said about Navas is true.

I saw that Wenger is interested in him too, as are many clubs- but who gets the guy is anyones guess.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. We can't sign Lennon for 15 f*cking million. That'd be a joke. He's not even better than Pennant... He can run and that's it. I think i'd cry if we signed him (no offence to Spurs, he's just in no way shape or form the player we need to sign to challenge for the league).

As for Alonso, he's integral to our new 4-2-3-1 formation, playing alongside Mascherano, and won't be allowed to leave - nor want to since he's getting regular football. Incidents between him and Benitez have been span out of context and made into a 'rift', which simply doesn't exist.

Also ManCity have been rumoured to be bidding 14 million for him this morning.

I can see this one happening actually, he'll give them some good pace on the right even if it means Ireland whos on good form missing out. There midfield could look a bit like this if it happens.

Oh god no!

I don't want Lennon for £15m!

Our crossing is bad enough as it is, but with Lennon it would be beyond belief. Bentley sh*ts on Lennon.

Lennon is good, and could be used as an impact player, but we should not be paying £15m for a sub!!!

Unless of course DIC take over and give us lots of £$£$£$£$£$£$£

Yeah but you don't exactly have a creditable opinion on Liverpool matters...

More rumours today that Lennon will be sold for 16 million. Should we read anything into Ramos taking him off at half time against Man City and not even starting him against PSV.

Maybe because the way Lennon runs is a bit camp, Ramos is worried that Spurs are being perceived as a bunch of fairies. He has already stopped Keane doing his girly cartwheel celebration and I've heard the crochet afternoons are a thing of the past. Laughing

Sshhh. Jesus Navas is a similar player and looks even more camp than Lennon when he runs and Ramos never gave him the boot.

Keane stopped doing that a lonnnnnnnng time ago.

The problem with Lennon is I think he got too big for his boots when he went to the WC, he just hasn't lived up to the hype since then.

I don't know where you've plucked David Villa from, but if we signed him i'd wet myself. An attack/midfield of...

-------------------------- Torres
------- Babel --------------------------------- Villa

------------------------- Gerrard

----------- Mascherano -------- Xabi Alonso

If Alonso could recover his form (even if not his very very best) that'd be fearsome.

The thing that lures me so much to Villa is that he acts as cover for Torres as well - playing in our formation means you can't really have a top striker to sit on the bench, because obviously they'll not be happy, and hence any title hopes rest on Torres staying fit. But with Villa, who i think can play out wide and roam a lot from there to up-front like Kuyt does, we'd have a world class replacement. Then someone else could fill in on the right. And i'm not too fussed anymore about Torres and Villa not producing a 'magical' partnership for Spain, because Torres himself is not inspirational for Spain (he hasn't scored in the last 18 months apparently).

We won't go for him i don't think, he's too obvious and not to mention expensive. Plus a little riskier than Torres was.
