Atletico Madrid will play against Athletic Bilbao in an all Spanish Europa League final in Bucharest,Romania.

Diego Simeone's side overcame Valencia (5-3 on agg) in the semi final winning 4-2 at El Calderon and 1-0 away at Mestalla.

Athletic Bilbao had a tough semi final against Sporting Lisbon losing the 1st leg 2-1 in Portugal but winning the 2nd leg 3-1 at San Mames.

Atletico Madrid of course won the Europa League back in 2010 while this will be the first ever European final for Athletic Bilbao.

There is a lot of history between these two famous Spanish clubs, some say that Atletico were started by students in Madrid from the Basque region.

Any comments or predictions? - Who do you consider to be the favourites to win this trophy and can Falcao produce the goods again?

I am sad to see that.
Come on Bilbao, baby.
So far, a pretty fast game.

What a mistake, the game is over, I feel.

Laughing I see that guys from Bilbao is as I from country side. We should say that they are playing quite good for village's level but there is one problem: Madrid has an international level so they are losing Madrid. Chinny, where is your complimented Bilbao. I invite you and Bilbao to me in my country side. We will milk cows together. Laughing

Bilbao just run out of ideas.

Still plenty of time though. Keep digging away, you'll get one goal back and anything can happen.

Madrid, keep, keep. It will be a very hard time but you must do it because this club won my favorite clubs Shalle and MU. My respect to Bilbao because they can't play football but they are trying and fighting.

Result

Wednesday May 9th
Atlético Madrid 3 - 0 Athletic BilbaoStadionul National Arena, Bucharest
1-0 Falcao 7’
2-0 Falcao 34'
3-0 Diego 85'

We are the Champions!

It was a fully deserved win for Atletico Madrid who were very well organised and every single player did his part

Is looks like Falcao loves the Europa League!

That was a beautiful goal at the end by Diego who was banned from playing in the 2009 final when at Werder Bremen

Well done to my fellow Atletico Madrid fans for singing and flying the Spanish flag and sending those Basques from Bilbao back home crying.

I haven't forgotten how they sang puta Spain and Puta Raul for 90 minutes when they played against Raul and Schalke.

Any more comments on tonights result?

He did very well tonight Chin up.

I think he will be a decent No 2 behind Peter Cech and be good enough to one day maybe take over in goal.

Why are there so few posts? I'm surprised that its final and we have so few posts.

If we are saying about the match I can say so: I didn't like this match. I was a fan of Madrid but I just watched this match. I all knew. I knew that Madrid will win and I hoped that we will have an intrigue but we didn't have.

Thanks Nick

I'm very happy to have won the Europa League for a 2nd time in 3 years!

Maybe next year Newcastle will play Atletico Madrid in the final?

I know Falcao cost us £40 million but it was money well spent after we lost Forlan and Aguero.

The original was one of my favourite Brazilian players back in the 1980's!
