There are 2 big name players to watch out for with Sydney FC having signed Del Piero and Newcastle Jets bringing in Emile Heskey. Gold Coast Utd were removed from the league at the end of last season and there is a new club called Western Sydney. Will Brisbane Roar win a 3rd title in a row? |

Western Sydney also have Shinji Ono, after turning down the chance to sign Michael Ballack. Stein Huysegems is also at Wellington Phonix. If those names mean anything to anyone else...

Melbourne Victory 1 - 2 Melbourne Heart Sat 06/10/12 Wellington Phoenix 2 - 0 Sydney Western Sydne… 0 - 0 Central Coast … Heart beat Victory 2-1 in the Melbourne derby in front of over 42,000 at the Etihad stadium. How was Del Piero's debut for Western Sydney Boris? |

He signed with Sydney FC, not Western Sydney. Shinji Ono is at Western Sydney. He wasn't really utilised effectively. He looked good, but they were using him too far up the park and trying to give him balls to feet or to run on to. He just doesn't have the pace for it, he needs to sit deeper and be allowed to dictate things at his own pace, in my opinion. |

Western Sydney! It sounds from your post that Del Piero should in future be used as a play maker rather than an out and out striker. Will be interesting to see how Heskey does for Newcastle during his debut on Sunday. |

Emile Heskey has also scored 5 goals but his Newcastle jets are in 4th position. |

I understand that Del Piero scored 4 times for Sydney FC in their 7-1 win against Wellington Phoenix?!
Any comments on the current season? |

Season has been fantastic.
Crowds are up, TV ratings are up. Title is really up for grabs between Central Coast, Melbourne Victory, Western Sydney Wanderers and to a lesser degree Adelaide United. Wanderers have been a revelation, particularly their supporters, the Red and Black Bloc (RBB). Will try and post some footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckQGQpLvMMA |

Western Sydney defeated Central Coast last night in a top of the table clash. They now lead the league by 2 points with 4 rounds to go.
It was absolutely torrential rain, played 100klm north of Sydney. Trains were not running due to trackwork and Wanderers still had over 6000 travelling fans. Match attendance was 18000. Could be a fairytale debut season for the Wanderers. |

Yes, they are.
I'm going up to Newcastle tomorrow for the Western Sydney Wanderers game. Last game of the season, if we win or draw we win the Premiers Plate. BMJ will lose his voice for this cause |

Still can't believe games kick off at different times. Nice one FFA
