Aston Villa v Tottenham |
|
Aston Villa had their christmas stuffing early as they suffered an 8-0 roasting by Chelsea ...it was a bit of a surprise after such a good win at Liverpool the previous weekend ...it was their heaviest ever defeat in the top flight ...manager Paul Lambert called it `unacceptable` and said they will just have to go again against Tottenham .
Tottenham found it tough against Stoke and in the end a 0-0 draw was the best they could manage ..manager Andre Villas-Boas said after the match .."We had lots of possession and lots of shots from outside the box, but we can't be negative because we gave it a go. We tried to get the three points but we couldn't do it today." |

I expect Spurs not to be showing Villa any seasonal good will. The team probably has some very battered self confidence at the moment, so while they are down lets take the gift of three points back to WHL! Villa 0 Spurs 2.

yeah..will Aston Villa be able to come back from such a battering against Chelsea....you would think the players will want to give a better performance at home .

Did you know that Spurs have lost none of their last eight Premier League games against Aston Villa (W5 D3 L0).
I think this will be an away win for AVB's side. Aston Villa 1-2 Tottenham |

Have to feel bad for Villa ,they worked their Asses off ,but the quality made the difference in the end!
Bales performance was good ,but after CHelsea smashed that defense for 8 one can only keep it in perspective really. He did what any decent player should do against defenders like that ,terrorize them! No if Bale did that to Chelsea ,man city or Man u with more success than failures we can be talking him up. Good performance by Bale great result for Spurs. Without question Spurs should be finishing 4 base don their squad with CHelsea top ,man city 2nd and man u 3rd. Arsenal being a couple of injuries away from finishing in the company of Liverpool, mid table! |

The drive down the M1 was more than worth it! Great performance by the Lily Whites, even if they did take a while to break down this poor Villa team (boy, Lambert has a challenge on his hands there). It was pleasing to see Bale and Defoe regain their 'mojos' in terms of scoring goals. Spurs really need to build on this, and three away points at Sunderland would do that. Up the Spurs!

so...how does a team beat Liverpool so impressively and then concede 12 goals in their next 2 games ...?
