Newcastle v Everton

Postby Conner99 » Mon Dec 31, 2012 5:02 pm

Newcastle got absolutely trounced by Arsenal 7-3 at the Emirates ...Newcastle scoring 3 goals for the second successive match and still ending up on the losing side ..the last 20 minutes proved the turning point as Newcastle faded and the quality of Arsenal shone through...manager Alan Pardew admitted his side could not last the distance .."We did not have the energy to cope with them in the last 20 minutes. We put the ball at risk too often and some of the goals we gave away were not good enough for us . There was a clear difference between the two sides in the last part of the match."

Everton lost a hard fought match against Chelsea 2-1 and ended the 14 game unbeaten home run at Goodison that had lasted since march , manager David Moyes said after the match "We're not disappointed because we played really well and we've run the European champions really close. but we didn't quite have enough in the end."

I think Newcastle could get a result here ,although Afro thunder is back so it could be a tie.
I'm going 2-1 newcastle.

This could be the last time Demba Ba plays for the Toon and I think he will score on his farewell appearance.

Newcastle 1-1 Everton

EVERTON have been brilliant in the league so far, and fully expect them to continue their good form here.

A scoreline of 3-1 Everton seems fair, with Nikica Jelavic rediscovering his goalscoring touch to bag a couple.

Did you know that Newcastle have lost only one of their last 10 Premier League home games against Everton.

Any more comments or predictions?

No Ba for the Toon tonight as Chelsea have triggered the release clause in his contract and are now close to buying him.

HT

Newcastle 1-1 Everton

Baines equalised for the Toffees with a breath taking free kick just before the break.

Moyes always seems to be showing himself to be a world class manager.
Pardew was clearly better last season, but that is all credit to Pardew, since Moyes really is looking world-class.

FT

Newcastle 1-2 Everton
1-0 Cissé 2’
1-1 Baines 43’
1-2 Anichebe 60’

What a free kick that was from Baines which will have also earned me some points for my fantasy team.

Did Everton deserve the 3 points today or were Newcastle unlucky not to have least got a draw at St James Park?

Disappointed not to have got a point against our North England rivals, but David Moyes is clearly world-class, and has mde Everton a team the most impressive club in Northern England.
