Newcastle could not continue their recent good fortune after a fine win against Chelsea , a 2-1 defeat at Tottenham meant there is still some work to do before thet can guarantee Premier League safety ..manager Alan Pardew said after the game
"Last year we were well beaten, but today we almost nicked an equaliser . "It was a good game of football. We tried to play and Sissoko produced another great performance."

Southampton upset champions Man City as they won 3-1 at home and grabbed 3 valuable points in their battle for survival at the lower end of the table ...it was the first win under new boss Mauricio Pochettino and the fans will hope for more of the same when they face Newcastle at St James Park .

Did you know that 30 of Newcastle’s 34 Premier League goals this season have been scored by French speakers.

Any comments or predictions?

I'm going for Francastle to win 1-0 with Cisse scoring the winner.

Team news

Toon keeper Tim Krul is now a major doubt after being injured in last nights Europa game in Ukraine.
Cheick Tiote could be back after being ill recently while Mathieu Debuchy and Yoan Gouffran who were ineligible yesterday are now available again.

Any comments or predictions?

Adkins who? Laughing

Pochettino has done wonders at Southampton since arriving, and they've almost got the results to prove it.

Saying that, I reckon Newcastle can do something here, and that's why I'm going for 3-1 Newcastle. A shock on the cards. 2-2 is possible too.

I'll be cheering for Southampton.

Feeling confident ahead of this one and feel like we can win this one.

My Prediction: Newcastle 1-2 Southampton

Jay and Lallana getting the first two followed by a Gutierez goal.

Francastle knew they had to out-score Southampon with the injury to Krul.

Moussa Sissoko is a beast, i knew he'd be quality in the Prem.

I would love Brendan to bid for him.
