Everton kept their hopes of a Europa League place alive with a 3-1 win against Reading ..the win moved them level with Liverpool and just two points from 5th placed Arsenal .

Man City did just enough to beat Aston Villa 1-0 and keep their slim hopes of catching Man Utd at the top of the table , it was Carlos Tevez who got the goal and manager Roberto Mancini could not understand how Villa are at the bottom of the table .."I think the performance was difficult as Aston Vila are a good team, it is strange they are at the bottom."

After Everton's 3-0 defeat to Wigan in the FA Cup last week we
should see a positive reaction but I don't think they will be good enough to beat Man City.

My prediction - Everton 1-2 Man City

Did you know that Roberto Mancini has lost to David Moyes more than any other manager in the Premier League (5).

No I didn't know!

I wonder why Man City have never done well against Everton?

Any comments or predictions?

Man City totally humiliated in last season's Champions League.

Man City totally humiliated in this season's Champions League.

Man City not humilated in last season's Premier League, but not particularly impressive either.

Man City totally humiliated in this season's Premier League.

That's 3 humiliations out of a possible 4 in the last 2 seasons. Sack Mancini now. He is under the illusion that we are impressed because he's the first manager to win a league the title for City in 44 years, but we aren't totally stupid.

FT

Everton 2-0 Man City
1-0 Osman 32’
2-0 Jelavic 90'

It was a great performance by Everton today and brilliant atmosphere at Goodison Park.

Man City should have had a penalty in the 2nd half when the ball struck Fellaini on his arm in his area

It was a deserved win for David Moyes side though and what a change from last week when they lost to Wigan!

Any comments on todays result?

It's great that we have clubs like Everton. Leon Osman (a local lad) scoring a fantastic goal and Jelovic (a Croatian migrant worker) scoring another fantastic goal. What a down-to-earth lot they are. We (the Toon) were the kings of English football last season, this season it's Everton. Well done, Everton.

This Manchester City didn't look like a Premier League Champion..

There is no way United won't win the title this season

Too bad that that a penalty was not awarded as Fellaini's hand are clearly inside the box. Still, I think Everton deserve to get 3pts as they manage they secure their lead with 10 men left.

As for City's title defence, they can still win the league if they can improve their form and win all their remaining games. Starting from now, United need just to bag 12pts to clinch the title, and I don't think that United's next fixtures will just be a walk in the park. In their remaining league games I think that away at Sunderland will be just their sure 3pts. I will say that City still have a chance, although it's just a slight one.

Man City may have been missing Kompany,Yaya Toure and Aguero the spine of their team but it was no excuse for their poor performance.

Mancini started the encounter with 3 at the back but then changed to a flat back four when things weren't going right during the match.

Even when Everton went down to 10 men when Steven Piennar was sent off they could still not take advantage of having a man extra.

Just what was the point of signing players like Jack Rodwell,Scott Sinclair and Javier Garcia during last summer as they are not good enough.

Then to top it all off Roberto Mancini wouldn't speak to the media afterwards and has flown back to Italy in a rage as its now the international break!!
